"In response to a number of sources, including the Brentaal Trade News, I have called a press release to answer certain questions about the recent attack on the Vigilance Technologies' asset within the Kanz Sector. I wish to assure the public that this facility, acting as a research and development area, was kept secret from the public largely to avoid an issue such as this. Vigilance Technologies did, however, operate with the full knowledge of the Imperial authority within the sector. There will be an Imperial investigation conducted by members of my office to trace down the perpetrators of this heinous act and bring them to justice. I can also inform the public that the weapons taken from the facility will not present a major threat to any civilian or military installation, having already spoken with Mr. Alyn Stark, CEO of Vigilance Technologies. Mr. Stark has promised this news broadcast a follow-on statement later this day, so I will leave further explanations regarding the attack to him. To the people of the Kanz Sector, your safety is, as always, paramount to myself and the Imperial officials of the Kanz Sector."

Press Release from Alyn Stark, CEO of Vigilance Technologies
"Fellow citizens of the Kanz Sector, I want you to know that my heart goes out to the families of the twelve security personnel who lost their lives in the attack on Vigilance Technologies' research and development facility. Jason Lathe, Arthur Crisp, Frank Potter, Calvin Rice, Alice Bronson, Cuthbert Ali, Tyler Manson, Gregory Hump, Ivan Robins, Phillip Toss, Brian Glover and Lester Xavier will not be forgotten.
"The Vigilance Technologies research and development facility located in the MZX32905 system was based within an asteroid designated on official star charts as Omega 379. This facility was converted for use by Vigilance Technologies' use and was protected by a number of defensive systems. Within this facility, drone research and development, as well as new warhead designs intended to compete against the existing proton torpedo and concussion missile warhead designs were produced.
"We are as of yet unaware as to how this attack came to be at our front door with such deadly efficiency. What we do know is that the attackers struck the facility during a time when the majority of the workers were on a scheduled leave with their families, destroyed the static defenses and defeated the remaining unconverted drone fighters that were utilized for testing and additional defense. The primary security of this facility relied upon the secrecy in which it was shrouded. We suspect corporate sabotage at this time, but we cannot prove or disprove that theory. My personal investigation team will be working by themselves and in conjunction with Imperial forces to ensure that we find the criminals behind this terrible, terrible act. Furthermore, the workers of Vigilance technologies have expressed their desire to rally behind myself in stating that anything that can be done for the families of those who lost loved ones will be done."
