| Queen Kylantha of Naboo was once again hosting the annual fundraising gala at Theed’s premier zoological park. It was something that she had gotten use to and this year she was actually looking forward to it. She had been working so hard trying to keep the new Governor and the new Imperial watcher from ripping each other and the planet to shreds it was going to be nice to have a lovely calm evening with drinks, friends, and music. She had sent a lovely letter kindly reminding Representative Vanden that his presence was mandatory, especially if she was going to play referee to the above mentioned parties.
The night of the event was perfect, it was a lovely warm evening for the ladies to wear their sleeveless and backless gowns, but not to warm that the gentlemen would die in their formal clothing. The zoological park had been decorated by the palace staff for the event. If Kyla was going to be hosting this thing it would be perfect. Lovely little twinkling lights hung from the tree branches that rose high over the walkways making a tunnel of soft light that lead to the center of the park. The center of the park was where the night’s festivities would begin and end. Small cocktail tables have been set up all around with white and black stripped linens draped over them.
Kyla was moving around the area making some last minute changes to the program for the evening, mainly finding a way to remove her welcome speech from it. She was dressed in typical Naboo fashion, a floor length gown, made of a light airy fabric in the lightest lavender color that could be found. Her hair was down this evening, pulled back into a loose pony tail that ran down her back, whisps of her blonde hair outlining her face. She wore a simple silver circlet, forgoing the formal makeup, dresses, and jewelry for the evening. She would frown a bit as one of the event planners told her there was no way she would be able to avoid giving a welcome speech and that she should probably start to write one. Oh these people knew her too well. She had planned on avoiding so she did not sit down and give any proper thought to it. But she would have to now, as the guests would begin to arrive and gather for some light refreshments before the evenings fun would begin!
