Queen Deralius III Steps Down DERALIA - In an unexpected move, Queen Deralius III has stepped down as Queen Regnant, ending the dual monarch rule of the past year. Queen Deralius III, now known properly by her birth name of Appia Augusta Aurelius, has thus become the Queen Consort of Deralia. The move relinquishes the Queen of all executive powers she once held. Many are unsure of what this means for Deralia, as she was known to be a liberal and pacifistic check against her conservative and militant husband, King Deralius XX. Rumors are abound to the reasoning behind this, with the leading theories being either a wish to focus on her renewed Senate career and anger over being left out of the consultation and planning of Operation ULTIMATE JUSTICE. If the latter is true, it is only the latest of political fallout over the failed military operation that has left Deralia and Dantooine in a state of war for nearly a year. The Royal Family is quiet on the issue, and no clarification is expected.
Cronese Commandos Caught In Mithra! DERALIA - The spokesman for the Privy Council announced this morning that four commandos of the Cronese Hegemony were captured late last year in Mithra by a member of the vaunted Office of Special Tactics and Reconnaissance, Miltiades Koteas. Koteas, considered Special Tactics and Reconnaissance's premier operative, was assigned specifically after detection of the team by the Royal Security Service. The Cronese team, under the guise of being on vacation, were the same team that operated on Caluula during the Rookite Rebellion with anti-government ethnic Cronese forces. They were handed over to the Caluulan government, however, somehow an escape was successfully made by unknown means. It is unknown at this time how the group was captured, or what, if any, actions they had been able to take against Deralia before hand. At the end of the press conference, it was announced that the group was sentenced late last evening by military tribunal on the charge of espionage. While sentenced by the military tribunel to death by firing squad, King Deralius XX intervened and ordered the commandos to be repatriated to the Cronese Mandate
Cronese-Deralian War Comes To An End DERALIA - A spokesman for King Deralius XX announced today an decisive conclusion to the Cronese-Deralian War. While no action has been taken since the allied blockade of Chandaar, the Cronese Mandate and Kingdom of Deralia have remained in a state of war. During the Blockade of Chandaar, Captain Jacinta Ibáñez of the HDMS Ops, the flagship of the Royal Deralian Navy, repeatedly challenged the Cronese flagship, the Black Flag, to a duel to no avail. With recent military restructuring and believed Imperial pressure, the Cronese were considered incapable of committing to an offensive war against Deralia, and many have believed, despite his silence, King Robeir XXII wished for peace. As it turns out, secret negotiations had taken place on the world of Turkana, between Lucia Poplicola of Deralia and Eric Goodchild of the Cronese Mandate. The details of the Treaty of Turkana include peace between the two parties, repatriation of a team of Cronese commandos captured in Mithra, and repayment to Deralia of the Dantooine War Debt payments. A declaration by the Cronese Mandate that states it ceases any and all claims to the territory of the Tion Hegemony, Allied Tion Sector, Indrexu Sector, Keldrath Sector and Thanium Sector and all peoples within was pushed for by Deralia, but no agreement could be reached and it was ultimately decided that it was an issue not worth continuing the war over. When asked why negotiations were kept secret, the spokesman refered to security threats and "a wish by outside forces to see the war continue"; when pressed on protecting Tion space, the spokesman referred the media to the Supreme Commander's officer which stated that "Deralia has been allied with the Tionese for thousands of years. That fact has not changed,".
"Sons of Seraph" to Serve the Auril Union DESEVRO - The I Tion Legion, a foreign service legion with the Tion Hegemony, has been loaned by the Tion Hegemony to the Auril Union for use in its possible war with Lorrd. General De Laurentiis, commander of the I Tion Legion since its founding as the Sons of Seraph, has been appointed Commander of all Auril Union surface operations. It is believed, however, that General De Laurnetiis may take an even larger role in the Auril military during the war. The Tion Hegemony loaned the I Tion Legion to the Auril Union as its official war asset support for the ethnic Tionese cause, which the Auril Union is claiming to be a part of. The Tion Hegemony, however, is allowed the Legion to only be commanded by De Laurentiis at any time. The Sons of Seraph were a group of veterans formed in the opening days of the Clone Wars to oppose the Separatists in the Greater Tion region. At the conclusion of the war, the Sons of Seraph helped the current governments rebuild and reform themselves, transforming into the I Tion Legion at the service of the Tion Hegemony itself.
Royal Deralian Navy Deployed to the Tion Hegemony DERALIA - Tomorrow, the highly decorated flagship of the Royal Deralian Navy will set sail among the sea of stars once more. In response to heightened tensions between the Auril Union and Lorrd, and the Auril Union claiming war on Tionese cultural grounds, Royal Deralian Central Command ordered the HDMS Ops back into the Tion Hegemony, after having completed a full tour of duty in that region of space six months ago. It is not believed that this deployment will last as long, however there is concern over the issue of claimed Tion cultural issues that may turn Tionese space into targets for the allies of Lorrd should hostilities resume. Earlier in the week, the Auril Irregulars launched a lightning, guerilla raid on Lorrd which eliminated Lorrd's orbital defenses. The Auril Union is claiming blood feud with Lorrd itself by Autucrat Cynum of Auril, who claims to have lost a relative in the recent Vianist Purges on Lorrd. The Auril Sector is not traditionally considered a Tionese region, however a large Tionese population had settled in the region who were escaping Separatist forces during the Clone Wars.
