The Helska System, an empty system that is already paying for itself
In what was called a controversial decision when the Dominion Federation approached the Empire and purchased the Helska System, a system that was originally thought to be lacking any resources and was empty of all things that would make it profitable. This purchase had many questioning the reasons behind it, though earlier today a shocking development arose from the planet of Helska 3 in the Helska System. A prospector that wasn't going to give up has miraculously uncovered a deposit of precious metals. The initial discovery was thought to be of no significance. This however was changed when in depth scanning of the area proved that the initial vein discovered was measured out to be roughly half the size of a Giga class transport is the vessel where to land on top of the vein.
The vein was found to have at least three to four more veins that stretched outwards away from the main vein of precious metals, with the added veins measured to roughly a quarter of the size of a Giga class transport. This strike is one of the richest strikes to be found in Dominion Federation territory, with the main vein already having been estimated that three quarters of it would be enough to pay for the current agreement between the Dominion Federation and the Galactic Empire, with the remaining quarter of the main vein and the extending branches are estimated to be enough precious metals to run the economy of the Dominion Federation for roughly twenty standard years alone, if the precious metals were used alone.
The Dominion Federation Council has come to an agreement however, as the Dominion Federation had also purchased the mineral rights of the world and this find technically belongs to the Dominion Federation. None the less, the Dominion Federation Council handed down its proclamation which congratulated the prospector as well as and I quote.
"The Dominion Federation Council congratulates the citizen(s) who came upon this miraculous discovery in the Helska System. This vein of precious metals has been estimated to be able to pay off the full agreement between the Dominion Federation and the Galactic Empire for the purchase of the Helska System, as well as be able to run the Dominion Federation economy by itself for an estimated twenty standard years. For their roles in this discovery the citizen(s) are being award a fifteen percent share of the gross profits of the precious metals mined from Helska 3. This means that those citizen(s) who found the vein will be able to retire within the year and provide for not only themselves, but for their families as well for the next three generations of that family."
The Helska System has since seen its share of influx of Dominion Federation Citizens making a bid in their own hope to find another miraculous discovery to make themselves rich. Already mining companies across the Dominion Federation have lined up seeking to be the ones picked by the Dominion Federation Council to be the company that mines the rich vein.
Alyn Stark employes his wife; Mrs. Stark, to use "Aid" in an attempt to bribe Dominion Federation widows and orphans
In a turn of events that has not been surprising, citizens of the Dominion Federation, both widows and orphans alike have been sent messages promising them restitution and scholarships for those that apply to the guidelines. However, those families being offered this "aid" have responded to the Dominion Federation Council and voiced their disgust that Alyn Stark has employed his wife in an attempt to bribe the families to remain quiet about the incidences that took the lives of their loved ones. A widow who must now raise her children alone was incensed at the message when it arrived, reaching out and contacting us when she received it.
I do not know who this Mrs. Stark is, though it saddens me that she would allow her husband to employe her in an attempt to bribe me to keep quiet about the incident. Not only that, I am furious that they are implying that the Dominion Federation Social Services system was unable to aid me and that the Starks could. I have turned down their dirty money just as I know my late husband would do the same thing.
This is not the only comment we've gotten from the citizens of the Dominion Federation, with many more are still outraged that Alyn Stark has refused to apologize for his comments and had even attempted to bribe a Dominion Federation civil servant. Citizens across the Dominion Federation have taken up to call the payments as nothing less than "hush hush" money being spent to keep the families and orphans in line and quiet, so that Alyn Stark and SDC could save face.
With the anger still present in citizens hearts, and Mr. Stark's continued actions and "attempts" to make things better only serving to make things worst, it is clear that the SDC and the Stark name shall be one hated in the Dominion Federation for a very long time to come.
Border to the Gree Enclave to be locked down; Planet of Kogan quarantined
Today reports came out of the Kogan system from the planet that shares the same name. So far the reports have read that a freighter that had traveled, either through or to a world in the Gree Enclave, was reported to return with an unknown pathogen on board. This pathogen spread to the populace on the world of Kogan, and doctors have since then issued a quarantine of the planet. All vessels seeking to land have been ordered off, with military vessels preventing others from attempting to leave or land on the planet. With the pathogen currently unknown, the world is to remain under quarantine with only medical vessels being allowed to land on the planet itself. The Dominion Federation Council has since released a statement.
"Our hearts go out to those suffering on the world of Kogan at this moment. With this pathogen of an unknown strain, it is clear that the medical minds of that world were right in calling for a quarantine. So far we have heard of no deaths, however there are many cases in which the patients are in urgent care. Military vessels have been stationed and the starfighter compliment of the world of Kogan has been called up to aid in security and preventing the inflicted from leaving off world and spreading the disease, like wise for those that are seeking to land. We have since then called for the border of the Gree Enclave to be locked down, with any vessels currently traveling to the Enclave, except for Imperial Military Vessels and Imperial Diplomatic Vessels broadcasting such IFFs, being the only acception to this lockdown."
The Dominion Federation has since mobilized relief operations to the world Kogan, along with deploying its military forces to the border of the Gree Enclave to patrol for vessels attempting to make entry. With those vessels seeking to leave being subject to testing and scrub down with sterilization to ensure that the pathogen not be spread to the galaxy.
