The stars seen in the night skies were beautiful, as were the large-rounded trees. Which seemed to be in contrast with the rest of the planet. The native fauna were restless over the noises of machinery (clanging usually) and loud, unnecessary noises created by the stormtroopers and their reptilian allies. Among many of those locations had the natives working several hours of labor hardship. It was not a typical 9-to-5 job. It was wookiees working as slaves under the Empire and their natural enemies in Trandoshans alike. This was the kind of thing the natives of Kashyyyk had to endure for generations in several different periods of galactic history. Strangely, most of them seems to directly or indirectly connect to the Sith. For this reason alone, the natives would have reasons to hate the Sith as much as anyone that forced slavery upon them.

At about the same time Inquisitor Cale paid a visit to Trandosha to visit the War Chief, hidden (for the moment) somewhere inside the forests were Taruuga. Taruuga was a veteran of Clone Wars, having participated in several battles for Kashyyyk against the Confederacy and their Trandoshan allies. In that war, his brethrens were backed by the clone troopers and Jedi Knights. When the order to assassinate the Jedi came, it all happened so fast. The clones had turned against the Jedi, and his people were forced to fight two fronts. The battle against the Confederacy were the one they could win, mainly because all the droids were shut down on Kashyyyk. However, many could not stand against the clones as many were either killed or captured into slavery. Taruuga was one of the very few to escape. There were rumors that, before his escape, he even attempted to help a young Padawan escape. Obviously, the efforts had been in vain. The wookiee had gone into the Shadowlands to lay low for a while, forcing himself to survive in the most treacherous terrain of the entire planet. Over time, he had begun to slowly assembling the fellow natives to fight the Empire and their reptilian neighbors.

Taruuga's golden eyes would turn to look at a fellow comrade, Worhanarr. His comrade would bellow in Shyriiwook, "We need to call for help." The wookiee rebel immediately shook his head and replied almost instantaneously in the native language, "And who will answer? The Jedi are in hiding. The outsiders that dare defy the warriors in white armors are fighting their own fight. If the outsiders answer, we still cannot afford to place trust on people not of this world." Taruuga would let a loud, heavy sigh before shaking his head once more. "No, we are alone in this fight. We will have to do this on our own."

Taruuga would look up to the stars, wondering if his rebels would be able to liberate Kashyyyk one day. "For as long as a wookiee is alive, the hope for our people exists." The male knew he would have to keep clinging on to hope, even if it was a fool's hope, if his people were to accomplish such a daunting task.
