| Hi everyone.
I'm making a character, and I was wondering if there isn't anyone with a spare moment to lend me some assistance.
The general concept is of a charismatic noble scion who in public is the perfect son to his strict Imperial minded father, but away from that is the Captain of a small pirate band operating out of a very small carrier / pocket battle ship type fringe vessel, taking advantage of military training he received growing up. I had originally thought to make him some kind of Imperial officer, or have a history with the Imperial Navy but I wasn't sure how well that would fit, how well he'd be able to get away from that, resign his commission, that kind of thing. I'm open to that idea but if it were more feasible, but I think that if he had attended a planetary or sector based military academy, it would better explain why he was sedition minded.
So my first request for assistance is could someone suggest a ship fitting the small carrier / pocket battle ship description? I'd be looking for it to maybe be able to carry 6-12 snub fighters of the appropriate variety (most likely Z-95's') given the era, and maybe a shuttle for utility purposes.
The second is what would be a good world to make his homeworld? I've toyed with the concept of Senator by day, pirate by night, but I'm not sure how feasible that would really be.
What do you think?

| Might I recommend a modified luxury yacht, it fits with the whole "politician" flavor you might be going for, and if you lay down some baseline specifications (guns/shields/crew/fighter complement/etc.) we'd be willing to work with you on it. As for a homeworld, it depends on what your preferences are, really, though I imagine someone with an Imperial-supporting father who's also a nobleman would probably hail from one of the Core Worlds or at the very least the Mid Rim. All this stuff's available on wookieepedia if you ever need a resource to fall back on. If you have messenger, you can also add me at: jmichaud12@gmail.com , and I'd be willing to help you out with it some more, should you have any other questions.
Man, Myth, Administrative God. Also plays a mean kazoo. Jace Varitek: In Northern California we just have gangs of vigilante interior decorators.

| I found this Baudo Class Star Yacht, and I think that the primary version of it would work as a base for my character's ship. I want him to be able to house a few fighters, but at 32 meters it might be a bit too small to be realistic. The Z-95 is just under 12 meters, but any kind of hangar bay for them would be nearly a third of the ship, and it'd have to be big enough to hold them and since I don't want it to be just one, more points against this idea.
I do like the ship though, the first few lines in its description fit my idea for Talum perfectly. I think the modifications could be made to fit 4 Z-95's. An elevator system like on carriers today could be used, the 4 Z-95's are stacked atop each other in a portion of the cargo hold that has been converted into a small hangar area. This would precipitate that only 1 fighter could be loaded or deployed at a time, due to the 1 at a time process of entering the hangar and getting put into its place. And on the note for the fighters, I'm thinking Z-95s because they're common and highly customizable, but I'm not entirely sure they fit the flavor of a spoiled rich kid seriously spending dad's money. They could if they were upgraded with a few perks that made them better than your average Z-95.
So, a Baudo Class Star Yacht modified with an elevator and stacking system hangar bay. 4 Z-95's to start.
Doing some reading on the Z-95s, I think that modified with hyperdrives and potent missile payloads would make them the fist of the pirate group, considering that since the hangar bay is already a big addition to the Baudo, it wouldn't be realistic to throw a turbolaser battery onto it.
I'd want to upgrade the shields and hyperdrive on the Baudo as well. What do you think would be reasonable?
Also as to crew. There would be so far as I'm counting it, (accounting for it base has room for 8 passengers and 1 crew member)
Talum - the captain 1 Navigator/Mechanic 1 Gunner (I want to add at least a pair of laser cannon turrets) 4 pilots.
In between adding the hangar bay and potentially 2 laser turrets, I imagine I'd be giving up considerable cargo room, but it'd be easy enough to convert it to temporary passenger space if necessary, allowing the crew to sell itself out as transportation as well.
