| I would like to request the following forces for Alsakan. As Alsakan is the second most important world in the Empire it seems likely that there are plenty of Imperial warships around, but also I would like to request a number of ships which would be maintained by the Alsakan Navy in order to keep up appearances and give them a limited projection capacity.
Alsakan is a massive world with a population above a trillion, in addition to this it has a military heritage from it's wars with Coruscant. While this immediate militarism would be set aside a moderate force would be kept available. The fleet would epitomise a rather smaller ship model than the Imperial standard, consisting mostly of corvettes and frigates in order to represent their normal role in trade patrols. This doctrine fits the official purpose of planetary fleets (defence) and leaves them I'll equipped to invade anyone but does allow pirate groups to be targeted comprehensively. It also represents the relative period of peace where Imperial vessels would deal with any large threat.
The numbers may look rather large but when born in mind that the fleet is high in numbers but low in actual firepower, while it would be a match for most planetary fleets (although not some such as that of Anaxes) it would be easily outmatched by even a small Imperial battle group and might well be defeated by a single Imperial Star Destroyer.
I would like to request 5xArquitens-class Ships 5x DP-20 Frigates 2x Nebulon-B Frigates 1 Squadron of Skipray Blastboats
These ships would naturally be used responsibly and would not be liable to wholesale rebellion or anything else silly, also they would be unlikely to be used as a full group, as the standard would be for the fleet to be broken up to different duties (to defend peace corps ships, distribute aid, diplomatic missions, defence of Borders, customs checks, participating in multilateral operations etc). If a war came up though, they might be recalled in order to protect Alsakan interests.

| You make convincing arguments for this and you've given us all good reason to believe what you say about using them responsibly. As a consequence, I am willing to approve of more than I otherwise might, but I still feel the numbers here are a bit too high. I went on the record in another request recently saying I can't bring myself to ever approve more than 3 (or perhaps 4, I forget) DP20 frigates. I know you have a low opinion of them, but I do feel personally that 5 DP20s could make rather short work of a Star Destroyer. So, I'm going to propose fewer of them, and fewer Arquitens too (even though I'm fine with them), to balance it all out with Nebulon-B's involved. So, I'm willing to APPROVE of the following preliminary numbers, which I think should give you parity (and then some) with other planetary fleets:
4 Arquitens-class cruisers 4 Nebulon-B frigates 2 DP20 frigates 1 squadron of Skipray Blastboats
Incidentally, this is what happened when I searched for Alsakan on Google (below). This is why machines shouldn't try to tell me what I'm thinking, or should be thinking.

| In Soviet Russia, Google searches you.
MOTION TO APPROVE OF JACE'S NUMBERS AND THE AMENDMENTS OF ANY FOLLOWING APPROVALS AND AMENDMENTS THAT WOULD THEN AMEND THIS VOTE WITH THOSE AMENDMENTS... I THINK.
