| Realizing that Sluis Van is a notable Imperial world that is bound to be important, what with its massive shipyards, I have reviewed its armada and found it rather lacking in some regards.
As such, I would request a quartet of Light corvettes, also known as Imperial customs corvettes, to help bridge the gap.

| Okay, so now I do know, Toben. Here's my hesitance:
■ (modified) Hammerhead-class Cruiser ■ Class 1000 Cruiser ■ EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigates ■ EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigates ■ IPV-1 System Patrol Craft ■ IPV-1 System Patrol Craft ■ IPV-1 System Patrol Craft ■ Law-class light patrol craft ■ Law-class light patrol craft ■ Law-class light patrol craft ■ Law-class light patrol craft
These are all the ships you currently have at Sluis Van. Where is it lacking, exactly? Bearing in mind there are undoubtedly Imperial ships at Sluis Van most of the time, too. RimCo's fleet is also there, as I understand it. It all seems ample to me, especially with the Law-class patrol craft and IPV-1's already fulfilling a purpose equivalent to what the light corvettes are intended for.

| The Law and the IPV vessels are decent for what they do; general discouragement of pirates, raiders and the like. However, it strikes me that when working with smaller vessels, it's better to have a higher number than a smaller one. Who is to say RimCo's interests are always going to coincide with Sluis Van's? Perhaps RimCo may not defend the world. I'm just trying to prepare for eventualities.
I suppose I don't necessarily need them, but they would be nice to have to finish rounding out the fleet.

| I would actually say Domon's argument is valid, that the presence of other forces, including galactic government, should not be factored in the consideration for planetary forces, for it is, in a supermajority of cases we would see, not a constant. In this case, considering Sluis Van as a world, and its importance over this time period and standing, I APPROVE.

| I vote to DENY. RimCo's presence is indeed unreliable, and there's no reason it would feel impelled to help defend the place, either. But the presence of Imperial forces is a legitimate consideration in a request, in my opinion. For a world like Sluis Van, it is more or less a constant presence (Core Worlds more so, of course). I've remarked before that my priority in planetary fleet numbers is to compel a choice between either offense or defense, but not both at once. And it'd be an unfair advantage, in my estimation, for a planet to let the Empire defend it and still have an equivalent number of ships it can use for offensive purposes that other worlds (like Druckenwell, say) can't do quite as easily.
That said, the request is APPROVED.
