| With the issue largely at hand being drone starfighters in place of manned starfighters, Vigilance Technologies has been working on technology allowing for remote operating units (REOs) that house a set number of drone pilots that in essence allow them to fly a drone from a launching ship or ground station. Naturally, the greater the range of the drones, the larger the station must be.
Understanding that communications jamming could interfere with the drone operation, the drones would be modified to operate across a multiphase communications band to include laser communication which, while limiting the drones to shorter distance in pitched battle, would make for a secure method of control. In the event of extreme jamming being utilized, the drones would default, after ten seconds of no communication with the central piloting unit, to their pre-programmed methods of work, rendering them back to drone starfighter status.
the overall effect is to turn them from drone combat units to unmanned space combat vehicles.

| I APPROVE. But be advised laser communications in the past in AGW have been used only for basic communications, basic commands. It's not ideal, it's not a practical alternative to comms, and I think that should be reflected in the RP with significantly reduced performance.

| Fair enough. The laser communications would be a backup, backup method. Strictly more short-range and would mean the drones would be likely working in a defensive mode at that point.
