Cain't work out this fancy corellian shit. Too many wires. Plus I don't like the idea of Dantooine being able to deploy a Capital ship - ain't neighborly looking.

Administrator says we can switch it out for an Outer Rim-class Defense Monitor (second one down).

It's a much bigger ship. I figure we'd probably pay an extra 25,000,000 on top of the trade in value of the DP-20. Not a huge outlay even for a world like Dantooine.

Gives it a basic ship with basic weapons which can be largely resupplied locally and doesnt rely on imported materials which might be expensive.

Firepower and defenses are prioritized, hyperdrive and long range travel aren't available options. This ship is strong enough and armoured enough to fight a large capital ship for an extremely long time (although itd lose eventually), but would have no value if captured (no hyperdrive) and would buy time for the IN to arrive.

The Venator is the HMS Warrior, the Outer Rim-class is the USS Monitor.

Stats

Technical specifications
Length: 550m
Hyperdrive system: Not fitted or equippable, spece which would be used for that dedicated to redundancy in the main generator.
Hull: Reinforced durasteel with alloy braces, bulkheads and struts, extremely heavily armoured prow, this prow allows deflection of heavy fire from the meters thick armour and additionally permits ramming (which thanks to the compact nature of the ship causes little structural damage). Armour is as thick and structural integrity is equal to an Acclamator-I, despite being considerably smaller. Hull is extremely thick on the prow.
Shielding: Equivalent to an Acclamator-class.
Engines: 40 MGLT (RAMMING SPEED! 55 MGLT - Sustainable for ten minutes)
Acceleration: 3000 G (Maximum, when spooling up to ramming speed), usual operating acceleration of 2700 G.
Armament: Long Range Heavy Turbolaser Turrets (DBY-827 heavy dual turbolasers in larger, more heavily armoured barbettes offering less agility but superior protection) (2), Dual Medium Turbolaser Turrets (16), Point Defense Dual Laser Cannon (4), Tractor Beam Projector with heavy hull bracing support (1)
Parasite craft: 16 A-7 Hunter Interceptors (VTOL directly down into armoured individual hangar areas on each side, hangar doors iris closed above landed vessels)
Crew: 700, 100 Gunners, 50 Marines.
Consumables: One Month
Notes: Powered by older drive systems that run more cheaply than hypermatter - of course this means no hyperdrive - but on the plus side means double redundancy on shields, weapon power and life support.

I APPROVE of this mostly because of "RAMMING SPEED!" in all-caps replete with an exclamation mark, but I do so over my personal feeling that it's unlikely that Dantooine would design its own ship or have its own ship designed for it. The ship may suit Dantooine, but the way it's acquired here doesn't, in my mind. Better for the design to be some old clunker of a design that's seen knocking about the Outer Rim from time to time. But! This is my personal view and not one that I mean to impose here. I'd also like to serve notice I intend to close this one up tomorrow if there's no additional comment on it.
