Information: The SDC First Strike is a versatile, lightweight slugthrower that was designed to compete with the Tof Soren Hunting Rifle and the Czerka Adventurer. Utilizing magnetic coils to accelerate the projectile, the First Strike is accurate enough to appeal to target shooters and rugged enough to be used at home on the harshest of worlds for either hunting or home defense. Created with Outer Rim colonists and farmers in mind, the First Strike is a cheap opportunity for anyone to enjoy protection at a low cost and even makes a nice addition to a teenager's first gun collection.
Information: Ever wondered what it's like to fire a PLX missile launcher that's seen in the action holovids? Now all responsible adults can find out in a small way what it feels like with the economically designed Little Boy gyrojet! Firing fin-stabilized miniature rocket projectiles with a low-explosive impact (for civilians; military use rounds have a higher explosive impact) allow for blowing pleasant holes in targets and large, dangerous animals alike. While not designed for the avid hunter, this weapon serves to bridge a gap between slugthrowers and blaster weaponry in terms of range while giving off the delight of explosions in every round. Tried and tested, the weapon can serve as a front-line rifle for extremely poor Outer Rim worlds and beyond that cannot easily gain access to masses of blaster rifles or power packs.
Information: The Mark I Murdelizer is truly an innovative design, despite packing a hefty price tag. Utilizing precise miniaturization technology developed by SDC affiliates, the Murdelizer offers a three-point composite-beam laser that is effective for personal defense or military application alike. Slightly slower-firing than contemporary blasters, it packs more of a punch than the majority of standard blaster rifles on the current market while still falling within legal guidelines. Designed for use by any personnel across the board, it is not the iconic, mass-produced weapon of SDC's future products, but rather a more powerful version designed to be sold in lesser quantities rather than a generalized problem-solver weapon. I feel more comfortable than ever before saying, with respect to the third one, that it's plainly not Star Wars. While, yes, there are examples of composite beam weapons with focusing dishes in Star Wars, this is clearly, far and away, not Star Wars at all. It's a throwback to 1950's popular notions of "the gun of the future" right down to the atomic symbol and the art deco font. It's like Homer Simpson's "car of the future" (below). I vote to DENY it.
With regard to the others, they look okay to me except for the prices. I'm not sure there's any basis here for the "First Strike" rifle to cost any less than, say, the Adventurer rifle. The oxidizer on the Adventurer bumps up the cost, but so does the magnetic coiling on your First Strike rifle. I see these as evenly priced, personally—360 credits. Ditto on the "Little Boy" rifle; your standard fletchette launcher costs over a thousand credits. I realize it's not a fletchette launcher, but I imagine the cost is comparable with its expensive, self-propelled specialty projectiles. I'd prefer to see it be 900 to 1,000 credits.
Before I vote to approve though I'd like to see some commentary from Karth or Jaron who may be familiar with what genre these weapons are from and how prominent they are within that genre. Jace Varitek Manager/Administrator from January 2003 to Present My recent posts here, pre-2009 archives here

I can ditch #3. It was a long shot anyway. The First Strike I can price higher if you like. The point of the Little Boy being priced lower is because the ammunition for it is priced higher. Selling a high-priced weapon with high-priced ammunition is more likely to make people buy less than more. Yeah, I'm not too keen on the image as a whole. They're Fallout weapons, I'm guessing? Seems kinda obvious that they're not.. Star Warsy.. Man, Myth, Administrative God. Also plays a mean kazoo. Jace Varitek: In Northern California we just have gangs of vigilante interior decorators.
Aw hell. It was a good try for some simplistic weapons. If you guys don't think it fits than cancel this one. I don't have a problem with the stats really, and Jace has outlined the issues he wanted to address regarding the cost of them. I'm just thinking a different picture is in order. If you wanna cancel it we can. Davon "Booster" Vanden - Big Damn Hero. For what avail the plough or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail? ~Ralph Waldo Emerson Theme ~Wanted - Bon Jovi
Finding the images is the hard part actually. I build the stats from the images. Mmh. Well we can consider the request closed until you wanna retool/request anew? Davon "Booster" Vanden - Big Damn Hero. For what avail the plough or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail? ~Ralph Waldo Emerson Theme ~Wanted - Bon Jovi
Sounds fair enough. There's another weapon request anyway. Alrighty then, request withdrawn. Man, Myth, Administrative God. Also plays a mean kazoo. Jace Varitek: In Northern California we just have gangs of vigilante interior decorators.
