Short request

I would like Baron Park to (thanks to various family deaths and intermarriages) to become the Constitutional Monarch of the Client Kingdom known as the Atrisian Constitutional Monarchy. I'd like to use it to just try something different and slightly outside the Empire - no intentions of expansionism or anything.

Well, as we all know nobility is about as inbred as an inbred thing.

So. I figured that I fancy having a little "Nobility promotion" for our dear friend the Baron Park, Swashbuckling Duelist of Mandalorians and noted loyal friend of the Imperial Government - having worked for a time in covert ops under Moff Levi.

I thought that perhaps then, one day a letter with nice writing would turn up at Park Hall letting him know that his distant cousin Hildebrund the Wide of the Atristian Constitutional Monarchy (Not a commonwealth until 11aby - the wiki article is misleading). Unfortunately, owing to a ridiculous surfeit of inbreeding, few of the suitable candidates are able to read, write, stand or in general function as one would expect a monarch to function.

So, thanks to being 12th in line to the Atrisian Throne via his mother, he was selected by the Atrisian Parliament on the basis of being of fairly good repute, having done war service, got a good education, having impressed many with his tact and discretion and furthermore for being the celebrated captor of Vil Haran, the self proclaimed scourage of the Empire.

Essentially, I figure that since it's a constitutional monarchy it isn't implausible that the Monarch needs to be ratified by the Parliament (as per ancient English Witan tradition), so after the Monarch and his two oldest sons died in a speeder accident, and his youngest son and daughter languishing in a mental institution, his immediate family was rather sparse (especially after attrition in the Clone Wars).

Thus the family turned to the Monarchs brother and sister. the sister was unwilling to take the throne as she was prone to neuralgia, the dead monarch's brother had a problem with compulsive gambling/alcoholism (so it was thought better to sideline him). Their four children were considered too immature or otherwise unsuitable for various reasons not disclosed to the public.

Thus it was that Baron Park would be offered the Crown of the Atrisian Constitutional Monarchy.

It should be noted that the monarch is an influential but not all powerful figure in the present Parliamentary system.

There is no currently named monarch (in fact the monarchy is abolished in 11 ABY and no records of exist of the names of the constitutional monarchs) - so it doesn't seem implausible that a cousin might be pulled in to fill a dynastic vacuum if he has the charisma and kingly presence required.

To be honest, it's nice and out of the way (the other side of the Galaxy from where our normal excitement happens) and I am rather more interested in using the group in it's current Allied Sector/Client Kingdom Format to maintain relatively healthy relations with the Emperor.

I don't intend on any expansionism outside of the boundaries set in the Canon, no colonies etc. I'll aim to keep up the canonical portrayal of a decadent and comfortable society which has many desirable tourist destinations for Imperial top brass.

As per the canon I'd continue recruiting Elite Regiments for the Empire from time to time, as well as maintaining an extremely modern and robust (but nominally ceremonial - rather like the French and British have a lot of pomp and ceremony) Defense Force.

Plus! The area is noted for being popular for Core World rich people to go on vacation, bringing a new setting into the RP, and providing an excellent and neutral venue for negotiations.
