Deven woke from a fitful sleep, the humidity of the jungle planet permeating his small tent and clothing. His good arm clutched instinctively around the holocron that was the last surviving remnant of Darth Novak's ideals and teachings. To Deven, it was more precious than life itself. It had become an obsession to fulfill his former master's vision: a unified Sith that rivaled the once-mighty Brotherhood of Darkness, a new Sith empire.

His followers included the eager-to-learn bounty hunter Tysho Rojim and a young boy of eight who did not speak, but was an apt learner. The boy had been taken from one of the backwater worlds that Deven had paid a visit to.

It was a poor following, but some of the greatest movements had begun small. Unlike the Brotherhood, Deven planned to only accept force users who were willing to remain with the darkside. Tainting the future empire with impure beings was unacceptable to him in the course of continuing the vision.

It would take much time, perhaps more than he had in his life. It was still a worthy cause. the fight that Novak had begun would not be ended so easily. Though his knowledge of ancient darksiders was limited, one name drew him: Belia Darzu. the ancient creator of the feared technovirus. That was something he could use. He had a long way to go.

"Ambria..."

Deven bolted upright on his cot, lightsaber hissing to life as he looked wildly around. the voice had seemed so... so real. The voice of a Sith lord now nearly ten years deceased, gone in the flash of an explosion.

Had the voice truly been that of Jericho Novak or just a fitful dream? Deven had progressed greatly in the force since his release, but he was not his master, not yet. Still...

Ambria, a desert planet inhabited by some over the years and in current times, practically abandoned. The darkside was still strong there according to lore and perhaps... perhaps it held one last secret. No time could be wasted.

Moving from the bed, Deven clothed himself quickly, the lost arm no longer a hindrance but something he'd become used to. Rousing his two companions, they broke down their meager gear and stowed it away, boarding their vessels for a path that Deven was not wholly sure of, but there was nothing else.

The sight of Ambria appearing before his viewscreen was indeed a vision to behold. Having been colonized during the Imperial era, the planet was set apart from the rest of the galaxy now, full of scum, villainy and likely a goodly number of refugees. Deven and his apprentices would blend right in. Two ships, even one being a TIE Raptor, were not likely to draw too much attention. Zsinj was long gone from the galaxy and his feared Raptor teams were no more. It would even be plausible to say some people had purchased his cast-off vessels as private ships, not unlike what Deven had done. Transmitting his intent to the Ambria control, he requested a docking berth. Rojim, traveling separately from Deven so they would not yet be identified as a pair, requested one as well when he exited hyperspace some twenty minutes later.

Searching would have to be done delicately.

Deven and Tysho, as well as the boy, had finally landed. Deven had yet to make contact with them to keep things safe. For now, he was posing as an injured former mercenary who had traveled far to see the place where Caleb, the famed healer from so long ago, had lived. It was easy enough to rent a landspeeder under a false name and begin his journey. Despite the life on Ambria, it was not as full as the Sith had expected; no, there were many parts that were left uninhabited. Deven's destination, perhaps fortunately, was one such place. Few people wished to live in a lake where darkside energy emanated from, and the lake was his goal to reach.

Deven had several days to research Lake Natth, and it was indeed a daunting proposition. The lake was surrounded by the dangerous Hssiss, and of course, there were still the spirits within the lake to deal with. It was likely going to require more than just himself to undertake this task. Deven had no illusions as to his own advancement. He had once thought he was greater than he was, and it ended up costing him his arm and his freedom. Nine years was a long time to think on one's mistakes.

Now though, it was more than just himself.
