The duration of her talking lasted for the time the turbolift brought the pair upwards, terminating at the level which was their goal. A lot of things were still confusing for Novak, but the gist remained the same. The Republic had been supplanted by an Empire, which was now supplanted by a New Republic. Pieces of the Empire still remained, from what she'd said. That meant it was more than just this... New Republic. Splinter factions of a once-powerful group might well be working against each other as much as with each other. There was little to say that this female wasn't thrown in with one of the losing sides. He'd need to assess the situation carefully.

"You may be after darksiders, but you have no real rallying point. At the very least, you've not spoken of one." Raising his hands, Novak gestured towards the walls about him as they closed in on the bridge doors. "This is a rallying point for darksiders. Vessels already equipped with a droid army and droid ships that only await the touch of command to carry out their orders."

At hearing her designation of 'Sith,' Novak simply chuckled. "Perhaps you are correct. Darth Tyranus once said that the primary difference between the Dark Jedi and the Sith is that the Sith have no fear... perhaps this means we walk different paths, no? Well, it is little matter of debate. It comes down to this, my new friend. What do you have to offer any darksider? A group with vague ends? A possible hiding hole on an uncharted planet? Tell me, Tyra... what is the status of Cato Neimoidia these days? We've used that misbegotten race in the past, spineless, cowering creatures that they are. That could be a weak link. Yes... tell me of Geonosis as well. If it is darksiders you want, we must have something of value to offer them. I will walk in my Master's footsteps... but in a different path."

This hiss of hydraulic doors opening on the deserted bridge announced their arrival. The largely automated vessel was dead in space for the time being with its escorts. All they needed was for a fleet to pop out near them and they'd be in a nice bit of trouble. Hopefully, this far in the Outer Rim, there wasn't much chance of anyone showing up to ruin this interesting little meeting they had going.

"Sith are always to be feared. There is a difference between pretenders to the throne and kings themselves. There have always been those who have proclaimed themselves as Sith. Time shows who are real... and who simply fade away into the mists of memory. Nonetheless... if you and I are to be working together, you will not forget the Rule of Two. Anybody else who joins this little... family... is an outsider.

"Everything else can be discussed with time. There are things that need to be done. To begin, I need a place where these vessels can be repaired. After that, we will go to Cato Neimoidia, where you, Tyra, will use your influence to gain us an audience with the Neimoidian Senator. We need backing in the Senate. Once we have the backing, I will become the new senator of Geonosis.

"That is what we have to offer. My own wheels in my head have been turning. If Geonosis is independent still, odds are a fleet can be quite persuasive."

"So we can have assistance in this... Remnant, as you call it? If they were beaten once, are they truly the ones we wish to go to to find 'friends'? Perhaps. Perhaps not. See this as I see it, Tyra."

Novak had plopped down in the captain's chair, kicking his feet up on a console just ahead of him. With his arms draped over the sides of the chair and with it slightly reclined, he did appear to be incredibly lazy. Hell, it was damn comfortable seating though! Not like the Acclamators that were built like sardine cans, meant for packing in the troops. No, no, no. However, Novak would have traded half his fleet for an operational C.I.S. carrier. He'd seen the Invisible Hand when it rolled off the completed line, beautiful and sleek and deadly. Now there was a ship for you.

"Say we gain the backing of the Neimoidian senator. This gives us an edge. I do not know how things are these days, but those little creatures were good with the Trade Federation in my time. If they still have connections, odds are we can use them. They're just a stepping stone though. The true edge with come from claiming Geonosis.

"Consider this: Darth Tyranus made a base on Geonosis for a long time; indeed, the opening battle of the Clone Wars was fought there. Geonosis is no stranger to the dark side nor the C.I.S. Odds are, if we convince them, by price or words or by strength, we will have access to the weapons factories. This is a large victory for us. We have a planet, an actual location for darksiders to gather at. We have weapons we can sell to either the Remnant or this New Republic. Money is power to buy more senators.

"When we have enough clout... if everything goes according to plan... I will make a motion in this senate for the darksiders to be legalized. After all... it's just a few philosophical differences between us and the Jedi. If the people of today are more reasonable, it should be no problem."

"the difference with Tyranus and most of the people I have dealt with is he knew what he was doing. but I seriously doubt he would have ruled through fear the way Sidious did. he might have but I doubt it. nontheless it should be easy enough to be taken care of. infiltration is what I do best and has been for years. the wheels were turning within her mind as to how this could be done which brought a dark grin to her lips. "soon.very soon." she thought to herself as she awaited his answer.

Rubbing his chin lightly, Novak considered the options at hand. His primary issue was lack of intelligence about the time period he was currently in. He had a rogue idea from what Tyra had informed him of, but it left massive gaps that would need to be filled. Some things were dreadfully obvious; one of which was Sidious' method of crafting his Empire. It was a decent system, ruling through fear, but now, with another Republic in place, it certainly wouldn't do to follow in those footsteps.

"The Senator from Neimoidia... he will be an afterthought. His assistance would only gain us further financial backing. If he did not agree, he would have to be killed, and I wish to avoid bloodshed. You see, I have a vision... a vision where Sith and darksiders are accepted as equals alongside the Jedi, providing we obey the laws, after all. What difference is there between us and them, save some ideological changes and a lot of feuding.

"This is what I will do. You and I will take these ships to Geonosis. As you say, they have been isolated, so we will come with an offer of friendship. Blood may be needed to be shared there, but greed often wins the hearts of most sentient beings. It is greed we shall therefore prey upon. The Geonosian weaponsmiths and droid-makers will want to bring in more credits, most likely. To that end, we will assist them in selling their products. My only wish to them will be to represent them fairly in the Senate, which I will do so.

"Greed is why they will accept me. Greed and, if need be, fear of what will happen if they don't. With the backing of the Geonosians, I will present myself to the Jedi Council. It may be a dangerous move, but they can hardly arrest me for crimes from the Clone War era, can they? Once they see I come without intent to fight, I will go before the Senate and bring Geonosis into the fold. From there, it is only a simple matter to have Sith and darksiders accepted.

"The New Republic, if at all like the old, will preach for equality and fairness. It would be throwing the lie in their teeth if they did not accept us. Then, my dear, we can begin gathering darksiders to us. For now... we must go to Geonosis. I need you to precede me there and prepare for my arrival."

Tyra had a vision of her own about this and how it could work out for all involved. "there are many in the galaxy with whom I have had contact with in the past at different times that could take care of shipments to and from anywhere they needed to go. legaly and Illegaly as well. "if Bloodshed is to be had there it would make a grave difference in how things are handled. honestly I don't thnk it will be needed.

things have changed a lot over the years in regards to almost everything but history always has a way of repeating itself unfortunately and that is I hope what we are trying to avoid and not make the same mistakes that palpatine made. Darth Vader on the other hand was a different story.

"You miss something, Tyra. We are going to play our hand differently this time. The Rule of Two is something I will enforce, this is certain. There are many darksiders... but only two true Sith. If you are ambitious enough... and skilled enough... that second may well be you. This isn't to say we will not accept any darksiders. The more we have, the better in the end. However, we will not hide this time. We will use the New Republic's equality to have a standing with all. This way, we can walk in their light... and yet still work in our shadows.

"I cannot speak for this... Darth Vader you keep naming. Yet, I saw the crafty wiles of Sidious for a long time. There are a few tricks I've picked up in that regard. As you say though, if you can hand me Geonosis without bloodshed, so much the better. That is the problem with this method... we must nearly act like the Jedi now, with peace and diplomacy, so that we might turn things to our path later. Do not mistake my intent. I will meet with the Remnant as well, at some point, for it would be rude not to have useful commodities on either side.

"Now, speak what you must. I feel very naked out here in the open. The sooner my fleet is underway to Geonosis, I will feel better. If you take your ship, you will have more time to barter before I arrive."

Shaking his head, Novak rose to approach the navigation console. A few tapped buttons later would ensure that the small fleet remained stationary, well outside of any planetary sensor range. It wasn't nearly time to begin an atmospheric descent. Before that could happen, he wanted to remove the droids and cargo on the most heavily damaged Acclamator to one of the more sturdy vessels. It wouldn't do at all to loose half his gift in a stupid mistake. Reentry into atmosphere could end badly, especially with the hull damage.

"Perhaps I will hear more of this Vader at some point. I am always interested in new things I might learn, especially in the ways of the blade. Nonetheless, my reasoning still stands. If the New Republic will accept the Sith as a valid organization, then we can work from that basis. Otherwise, we are simply an outlaw group. It is a flaw that has plagued us for many eons. Now, perhaps, it can change.

"Take Geonosis, for example. Everything is built on greed. If we win with greed here, we can win with greed elsewhere. The catch is using greed to our advantage while seeming to be generous, considerate and willing to accept any laws and restrictions this Senate place upon us. Go forth then, Tyra. Prepare for my arrival... and do it in as kindly and diplomatic manner as possible. We don't want to alienate our hopefully new friends."

Tyra was correct. Greed only did carry a cause to a certain length. Deception would have to assist, at least in the beginning. So now it fell to him, a relic of older times, to bring together a gathering the like of which had not been seen in ages and then, to legalize them. What would be the point though? Legalizing darksiders was one method of approach. Of course, laws were not items to sit well with the destructive nature of those who followed the darker side of the Force. Still, with that many darksiders under his control, perhaps one goal would finally be attainable. To destroy the Force... to rip it asunder... now that was a goal worth having.

The need to tread softly now was what limited him the most. Every moment screamed for the need for action, but diplomacy must have its chance to work through first. Without it, all his grand ideas and plans would fall through with no chance of succeeding. Well, enough about such thoughts of failure. For now, he would wait until the automated systems between the Acclamators transferred the precious cargo on-board. It would be time-consuming, allowing Tyra the time she needed.
