Thank you for your time, Mr. Tang. Be assured these proceedings and anything you say herein will be kept confidential until such time as a final report is prepared and released on the subject. Let us begin, then, with your complaint against Senator Kruus. It would be helpful to us if you explained, in detail, the nature and the proof of your allegations against him, so that we may know where to begin our investigation.

General Cracken,

Firstly, the Government of Acherin thanks you for your time away from your busy schedule, and will claim that Acherin will be fully supportive of anything asked of it... and we do mean anything. To begin with, Acherin has within it's custody an Imperial Spy. We would like to point out, that we have not resulted to torture of this man, nor would we ever. It is a violation of his human rights, and we as a galactic government do not condem such action. If a medical review is needed from the NRI, we will be happy to have a team come to Acherin. Now on the matter of Senator Kruus, the Imperial spy informs us, that it was he who ordered the action. Using his power as a New Republic Senator, was he able to slip in this spy using diplomatic codes. This spy's mission, as he mentioned, was to cause disruption and cause civil unrest for this Senator's Imperial power to come in and claim Acherin... with a nice hefty reward for Kruus.

Now, as I mentioned in the Senate, we conducted several raids and found Imperial weaponry, funds, and unsigned orders. However, one of these claimed orders ensured that Neimodian support for the new government would come as soon as the banner was raised, which left us rather suspecious. As for who this Senator claimed he worked for... all the spy was willing to say was an Emperor Gemmell. The rest we do not know.

Will anything else be required?

Representative Tang

Perhaps you can confirm a few points for me, so that I know I'm understanding you correctly. Acherin has apprehended an alleged spy―an Imperial spy, specifically, who purports to be employed by the Moff Council―who, by arrangement and/or encouragement of Senator Kruus of Neimoidia, was engaged in "disruption" and "civil unrest" with the objective of inducing the planet into affiliation with the Moff Council. The alleged spy further indicated to you that Senator Kruus himself was being paid (if I'm right in assuming that "a nice hefty reward" refers to payment) by the Moff Council, apparently for having made these arrangements and used his diplomatic codes to facilitate the spy's entry to Acherin. Do I understand all this correctly?

If so, I have a number of followup questions, to corroborate this man's story. First, how was it determined that this man was, in fact, a spy and what specific act was he committing at (or had committed prior to) the time of his arrest? Secondarily, and perhaps most importantly, did he indeed use New Republic diplomatic codes upon his arrival at Acherin? Did this individual pose as a New Republic official, or as a civilian? Do you have any material evidence (such as intercepted transmissions, bank statements, etc.) indicating correspondence with representatives either of Neimoidia or the Council of Moffs? With regard to your government's raids―which, as you say, uncovered Imperial weapons, funds and orders―were such raids conducted on properties owned or leased by the alleged spy himself, or accomplices? In either case, was there anything suspicious about the manner in which these properties were paid for (such as in cash, or from foreign bank accounts)?

Also, would it be possible to have a transcript of the alleged spy's interrogation, or indeed to have him extradited into Republic custody so that we might question him ourselves? If it's more convenient, we could also question him when we've arrived at Acherin.

General Cracken,

You are indeed correct in identifying the man as an Imperial Spy. As to your follow up questions, I will state by saying that this man had been traced ever since he landed on Acherin. We got curious about this man when he refused to check into the national embassy on Acherin, which is where we have a government-mandated law that any official baring codes that identify them as ambassadors, senators, etc. etc., must check in, so that a meeting can be arranged if need-be (which is mostly the case). Using Neimoidian codes, this man took off into the city. As for the codes that he was identifed as, he was clearly labeled as a 'Noble Ambassador', which puts him high on the list to meet with President Tu'Rot. As for evidence, we have routing numbers to banks, identification cards, a briefcase full of information, and several other misc items we will be glad to turn over... once I can reach Acherin, but seeing as how I cannot contact the ground, I am in dark.

For the property the raids were conducted on, we received a tip that a deal was to go down that night, at the Old Warehouse district located on Acherin. Of course, the deal took place in an abandoned warehouse that had fallen off the list of buildings that needed to be remodeled. And for what we seized, we managed to collect weapons with Imperial markings, New Republic credits, unsigned orders for assaults, and we have reason to believe that nuclear weapons were also there, but we believe they hide somewhere on Acherin. Government agents look to search them, but even with the cooperation of the spy, we have been unable to find them.

As for the spy himself. The Government of Acherin is bringing charges to the man, however the New Republic is welcomed to bring a case itself should it wish.

Representative Tang.

Thank you, Representative. That is most helpful. With regard to causing disruption and civil unrest, however, I'm not completely clear. It's troubling, of course, that there may be weapons of severe destructive capability on Acherin (indeed, we should all be concerned with this), but what acts of "disruption" did the alleged spy, in fact, commit? Or was he arrested on conspiracy charges? Secondly, do you happen to have the Neimoidian transponder code that he used to identify himself? Or copies of his supposed identifications as a "Noble Ambassador"? These would be very helpful to us, as well as the other documents you've referred to.

We're told that communications to Acherin have, in fact, been restored. However, it is rather chaotic there at this point in time and I understand if you would rather make contact with your government on this matter after you've inquired as to the planet's condition, family members and friends, etc. We're being informed there are currently Imperial forces possibly assaulting the planet, but our information is, of course, limited at this point. If you have those diplomatic codes and documents, again it would be helpful, but if you wish to adjourn this session and return to the suite we've arranged for you, I would understand. I can always inquire after you at a later time.

General Cracken,

He was arrested for being a part of a scheme to violently overthrow the Government of Acherin, and for assassinations made on former ministers upon the planet, and for the plot to assassinate President Tu'Rot himself. When his briefcase was confiscated, we found hand written orders from this man to his cell groups on the planet to carry out 'hits' on the various ministers. Once communications are fully restored (I still have been unable to reach the Government Building), I will forward the list of dead ministers to your office. And again, we have everything on file. But with this blockade of my planet in place, communications has been hard. However once I can get a clear line going, I will ensure the NRi has everything within 36 hours.

As for me adjourning, I will not. President Tu'Rot did not adjourn when he was fighting this corruption on Acherin, and I will follow his footprints and not give up. I will however, retire for the evening. If I am needed, I can be reached at the suite.

Representative Tang.
