Being situated at the intersection of the Perlemian Trade Route and the Hydian Way, Brentaal and its people deserve and require a more adequate defense. I ask, therefore, that the Senate award a defense grant to the planet to cover the expense of a planetary shield generator, perhaps to be considered as compensation for Admiral Ackbar's careless destruction of our orbital shipping facilities several years ago, and our resulting descent into economic depression from which we are only recently, and slowly, recovering. I vote in favor.

The Economics Committee has reviewed this, and in light of being relatively cheap for the protection it will bring to so many people, we vote In Favour of this grant.

I would prefer the funds be given in the form of a loan, rather than a grant, but I suppose there are unique circumstances in this case, as Senator Cambrist has said. I likewise vote in favor.
