Background to this post. http://agalaxyatwar.multiply.com/journal/item/74/March_on_Concord_Dawn

And the final conclusion

Tergela saw Zuthus resolve and found what he said quite interesting. He began to think upon the champions that he had to find the one that would obviously defeat this new Manda'lor. Tergela was an over confident and dishonest for a Mandalorian. Honor and tradition was foreign to this man. However respect was not and he considered the single combat with some sense of nostalgia for an older and simpler way. Teregela wasn't sure however if he wanted to risk his clans positions as a powerful political force on a single match.

He looked over this new "Manda'lor" and a tinge of contempt befalled him he remembered te last Mandalore that the clans had followed had nearly brought the Fett clan to ruins. This one was solid though and he seemed ready and confident so Tergela could determine that Zuthus was only showing a fraction of his force. He didn't know how well prepared Zuthus was and he intentions was to prevent the shedding of Mandalorian blood, Though he was a confident that this Mandalore would have some back up forces in the the canyon. He briefly considered the possiblity of snipers up in the mountain so he was sure if Bralor pushed him east it would be a trap. But luckily they were far enough away not to matter. Or so he thought.

He took a good look at his armies. Most of them were itching for a fight and wanted their independence. However Tergela could only think of the blood shed that might occur. He had heard that the warriors of Bralor were like the clan Ekth in their brutality and he also heard rumors that the clan had the hardest training regime of all the clans in addition to the fact that thier members were bred warriors. He looked upon Zuthus and he imagined that the Bralor clan would be a clan of giants. But he saw the intensity of Zuthus's eyes. So dark and penatrating it began to invoke a fire withing Tergela. The fact that a Mandalore was willing to fight by himself was actually quite refreshing. In fact, albeit his proposal did seem naive to Tergela, it did demostrate to him that this Mandalore was different.

"Would this be to the death?" Tergela inquired to Zuthus.

"To the death," Zuthus said laconically.

Now this was even more interesting to Tergela. Perhaps this Mandalore was more responsible then the rest, Tergela was to think. He was still of two minds. "I have another proposal. I myself would like to fight you but I feel it would be appropriate to prove yourself as Mandalore to face three of us, especially given your clans reputation. What say you Zuthus?"

Bralor grinned. "Three against one sounds more fair to me."

"And the stakes?"

"If I win against your three champions then all of you must submit to the laws of Mandalore. Your clans will follow the Resol'nare and you will pay a tribute to our nation. Your clans will mantain an army and will be loyal to me, and this planet will partcipate in the betterment of our nation."

"And if you lose?"

"Isn't that obvious..?"

Tergela nodded. "Then it is agreed. If you lose we keep our lands and Jabo'a will submit to defeat and leave our clans alone," he said this looking contemptuously at Jabo'a, then turned to his people and announced what was agreed upon.

"All here must bare witness that we will not have bloodshed on this day nor any other. As your leader, I have come to agreement with this new Mand'alor. The fate of our clans will be determined by a fight to the death. I and two other champions will fight Zuthus. If he wins we must all submit to his law..."

To this cries of protest came and people shouted for war and an end to the Mand'alor's life. Tergela raised his hand to silence them.

"Things have changed," he responded. "This Mand'alor doesn't have the power of the others yet he bears more responsibilty and risks his very life on a dream of a powerful nation. We must all honor this very commitment. That and he respects our independence more so then I thought. As your leader I command that this agreement will be honored by all. We will have a feast tonight as fellow Mandalorians. All of us will enjoy each others company as Mandalorians. Then, tomorrow I will fight Zuthus in front of all of you."

He then turned back to Zuthus, "I will need to talk to the leaders of the other clan for this arrangement. However I will vouchsafe you in this encampment. I must thank you for putting your life on the line for your nation. I can tell you are a man of great honor and respect. But remember tonight I am your friend but tommrow I will not save you from death. If you are to lead you must overcome all three of us and be merciful at your own discretion. My only regret is that I didn't meet you sooner as a comrade."

"You words bring comfort to my heart and I will take them into my Manda. I appreciate you and your vouchsafe. Your ancestors were helpful to many a Mand'alor and through you I see the honor that they carry. You will be a fair opponent and I expect nothing short of you killing me."

"Then this I must ask of you. I'm am the leader of these clans and they look to me to represent their best interest. I ask that you take care of my family and my people if I were to die tommrow."

Upon this Zuthus felt saddened. Tergela's sudden trust in Bralor was almost too much to bear. Tomorrow if he killed even one of the men he must kill them all. The burden felt by Bralor was great because he would be killing a good man and tomorrow he was going to do his best to prevent it.

Moments later, as Tergela left Bralor's encampment he too thought on his opponent. A good man, he thought of Zuthus. Good man, but a dar'mirshe fool. Throwing his life away. As the sun set on Concord Dawn, Tergela Fett also felt a remorse that he must do away with this man, but tomorrow it would be over and he and his warriors will have won, and have done so honorably. He would sleep well this night.

* * *

Later that night after all the festvities Zuthus could be found in his tent sharpening his sword and getting prepared for battle. He polished his gauntlets and scrub the dirt of his armor and cleansed himself in pefumed water made from natural herbs and plants found on Mandalore. After this was done he performed the rememberance ceremony in which he recalled all ancestors in his family tree to the best of his knowledge and his deceased family and to call upon thier strength as well as to immortalize them in his heart. His ancestory went back to at least 4,000 years and the Bralor's clan ideolgy and culture much like the rest of the Mandalorians remained unchanged for the four milennnia given Zuthus a rich history to reflect and meditate upon. It was only now however did the Bralors take leadership. For unlike any other Bralors, Zuthus was a man who strived for the internal harmony in his Manda and the Manda'ani that existed in the entire community of Mando'ade. He believe his action should hold honor and respect and a sense of subtlty amongsts his peers. He continously thought of how he could lead his people better. However at the same time he wanted to expand the ideology and make the culture more inclusive a thought that was very unbralor like. It was with these thoughts that Zuthus went to sleep among all of his fellow Mandalorians.

Elsewhere in the encampent as the festivities ensued a few Mandalorians whose shallow morals and integrity allowed it began to plot the asassination of Zuthus. They gathered like vultures and met under the cover of darkness to hide their foul and greedy intentions some distance away from the crowd. Each of the conspirators came from the various clans that had joined to fight the Mandalore and the Mereel Clans and were quite angered by the decesion of Tergela. To place thier fate on a fight was unacceptable and they would not follow thier leader for he no longer had thier dispicable interest at heart. These traitors wanted to shed the blood of many Mandalorian and show the galaxy that the Clans of Concord Dawn would not follow anything but their own anarchy. Through the night they planed that one of them would shoot down the Mandalore in the back if he were to gain glory and defeat his three combatants. They went further in thier evil intentions and decided that Bralors family must die and they would weed out all the clan members and execute them.

Little did they know they were being watch by a fair and beautiful Mando'ade by the name Isko, the wife of Bralor. She hid in one of the tents nearby witnessing those sinister Dar'manda as they spoke wickedly. She thought upon what measures against those wicked Dar'manda she could do. Her thoughts went to dispatching the wicked Dar'manda however such actions, with little in proof, would change the festivities into a blood bath. An unwanted consequence that would ruin everything Isko's husband was working towards. Her thoughts then drifted towards telling Zuthus of what she saw however thought twice about that course of action she would bring worry and strife upon his head which could make the difference between life and death. This was not to say she didn't have any confidence in her husbands capability, many of time Zuthus has fought more then three people and won, Isko would not worry him now because she knew his temper. For now, she returned to Zuthus's tent and looked upon the warrior whose night dreams had began him on a journey to the land of the dead, where Zuthus would travel and confide with the great heroes of the past. Isko settled in to sleep beside him, but she did not sleep. She waited.

The next day, a beautiful dawn rose in the East upon the hosts and upon where the host sat on the fields of Tur'an. The clans of Bralor and Mereel encampment were sitting opposite of the Clans of Fett encampment as the battle circle between the four combatants were about to begin. Zuthus stood, surrounded by his opponenets, in the center of a large circle drawn in the dirt. The circle was more out of respect for tradition then actual boundaries to the coming fight. The combatants stood poised with all of their combat weapons at hand. No prior agreement had been reached on what could be brought to the fight so Tergela was the first to speak.

"I am glad to see you are no coward," he said. "I did have some doubts if were going to show up but now I truely see you are a man of honor. I am glad to see you would risk the odds against me and two of my men."

"The odds are in my favor, Tergela. Or haven't you heard, we Bralors are at least three times worth a common Mandalorian?" vaunted the Mandalore at Tergela's expense, such was Zuthus's arrogance and confidence.

Fett was insulted by that remark. Suggesting that he was common was an affront to his pride. "We shall soon see, man of a million boasts, seeing as you have all your weapons and I and my comrades have our own, shall we then fight with them and see who is truly the better of the Mandalorians?" thus did Tergela vaunted back at Bralor.

"Yes," the Manda'lor responded laconically.

"So be it." He then addressed the two armies. "All of you witness and witness true that here on this day I, Tergela, along with Gun'nil of Par'tay'on and Jeroth of Fett will face Zuthus Bralor in the battle circle for the honor and control of Concord Dawn. Let it be that the armies will honor this agreement and that the victor earns the spoils of said agreement. Let no man on pain of death interfere with what shall happen in this fight nor dishonor its results."

Tergela then turned back upon the Mand'alor with all focus and attention on him, his fellow comrades as well preped themselves for battle, with the Mand'alor staring straight at Tergela's comely face as he put his helmet on and nodded at Zuthus. Zuthus then did the same, putting his helmet he prepared his mind for this fight, standing squat at his opponenets like some lion who surrounded by lesser preadators whom seek to take his kill from him and feast on his labours but the lion would not give in so easily and would put up a hurly burly for his kill, and thusly was the additude of the Mand'alor.

The fight was called to the start and Zuthus took the immediate action. Firstly he took the shiny edge of his goodly left gauntlet which shimmered like the sun, for it was as if the forger god himself had built his armor, he reflected the morning sun in the eyes of Terela which temporarily blinded him as he shot at the Mand'alor with his rifle and missed hitting the ground right beside the Mand'alor kick up hot dust and fragments. Zuthus simutaneously shot Jeroth Fett in the knee where the armor does not cover with his pistol, forcing the man to the ground. No sooner did the Mand'alor injure Jeroth did he take a hit from Gun'nil's rifle which bolt struck Zuthus on the side where the plates were not however the dragon skin was. The armor held, upon which Zuthus then activated his aspis shield and rocketed off in the direction of Gun'nil the bulwark as Tergela fought to regain his sight.

A fatal misjudgement on the part of Gun'nil made him still and caused the Mand'alor to smash his shield against the bulwark sprawl on the ground. Gun'nil as fleet as he could attempted to get back up and draw his blaster from it's holster with his right arm. As he was upon his knees so did Zuthus spring forward like a lion, he grab the right wrist of Gun'nil and dragged the bulwark towards himself he set hold of Gun'nil's shoulder and then pivoted on his right and smashing his left knee into the bulwarks arm break the sinews in the elbow and causing the mans arm to go limp and flop like a wet sheet or cloth drawn upon a line to dry but one side was twisted from it's pin and so the cloth would flop in the wind, so did Gun'nils arm flop.

Gun'nil of Par'tay'on did not give up as sprang up he tried to punch the Mand'alor with his left fist only to to be taken by Zuthus and used to throw the bulwark over his back dislocating Gun'nil shoulder in the process. Gun'nil body came crashing down to the ground as a tree would, the breath knock from his large lungs. Dazed and confused the bulwark rolled over and attempted to get up only to be take from behind by Zuthus who used his arms as would a wild dog or ryek use it's jaws to grab the neck of an unsuspecting prey and choke the life out of it, thus was Zuthus's grip over Gun'nils neck. The Mand'alor thrusted into the bulwark of a man and twisted him so as to face Tergela and Jeroth.

It was then Jeroth who had take posistion on the ground lying low on his stomach for the injury of his knee that the Mandalor had inflicted earlier would not allow him to stand without excruciating pain. He took aim with his rifle but of course hesitated as any Mando would at the prospect of unintentionally killing one of his own allies. He adjusted his aim and fired at what little head Zuthus had left open. The beam lanced like a shooting star whistling past the head of Zuthus Bralor. At that very moment Tergela rocketed off in the sky as Largotoz war dragon would take flight into the sky threating to swoop down on it's prey, this is how Tergela took off.

With this new threat in the corner of his visor the Mand'alor took no hesitation to act. Firstly, though it pained him greatly to do so, the mand'alor tighten his grip on the neck of Gun'nil, who could only struggle vainly to set himself free, for it was as if a serpent had taken grip over his neck and was pulling him down to his weakest point. Zuthus then wretched Gun'nil's neck as hard as he could snapping the sinews and crushing the bones, wretching the very life out of Gun'nil whose eyes went dark as death's shadow came over him, the breath of life leaving his lungs and his soul left for Manda. Secondly he launched his rocket off in the direction of Jeroth for though the man was of little threat he still could end up sending the Mand'alor into an early grave. The rocket hit it's mark and all that was left of the opponents was Tergela.

Tergela upon seeing both his comrades dead becoming drunk with rage. As he swooped down he took aim with his flame thrower for he was going to spray his opponent with it's unquenchable flame like that of a dragon's. To his surprise Bralor charged forth towards him, reactivating his shield and placing it in front of him to ward off the napalm. Bralor came to the spot where Tergela was to land, deactivated his sheild and just as Tergela hit the ground he grabed the outside left forearm of Tergela and pushed it towards his body there by avoiding the flames as he drew his sword with his free right hand in a sweeping cutting motion meant to cut the hose and arm of Tergela which Zuthus did so, effectively, for he not only cut the hose which began to spray unignited nalpalm all over, he cut through the flight suit sleeve down to his bone leaving him bleeding and in pain however the Mand'alor's attack was not finished he then shoved Tergela back as he rotated his arm to bring his blade to bear again. Zuthus swung his blade at Tergela's neck so as to sever his head from it. However Tergela had other thoughts to this matter. He couldn't block quickly enough so he ducked and hoped that his helmet would sustain the blow from the goodly arms of the Mand'alor. It did not, for though the Mand'alor could not cut though the helmet entirely he did suceed in managing to cut through the armor and then into skull crushing the eye socket and shattering the brains. Tergela's lifeless body fell to the ground and a pool of blood flowed from the helmet. Zuthus looked down at the lifeless body. At that moment their was no glory in Zuthus's mind. He pulled his sword from Tergela's shattered skull and sheathed it. He then pickup the body which was as limp as a rag and brought it over to the Fett encampment which at this point stood in awe and held their breaths as they saw the lifeless body of thier leader be carried over to them by his slayer.

Bralor brought the body to two young lads in the front rows who could but only stare at it. He spoke to them these words, "Take this body and see to it that Tergela of Fett gets a proper burial with all honors befitting of a Mando'ade." and the two youth took hold of his body which felt as if it carried the entire weight of Conchord Dawn and the whole Clans of Fett and others began to silently mourn for their leader and thier plight for now to them their way of life was over. Zuthus looked upon thier sad faces and looked into thier hearts that were in dismay and devastation. They all knew the agreement that begat this battlecircle tied them to a fate they did not wish to be tied to yet for the sake of less bloodshed they gambled thier way of life. And now they have lost they felt the sting of regret in not gambling their own lifes. Just as Tergela's body was being passed down Tergela's family came up after being informed of his death. The look on thier face was that of people who were hoping that what was told to them was false. When they saw the body however the truth came crashing down upon them. They all wailed there sorrowful calls at the loss of thier patriarch, his wife threw herself upon his body shouting in vain for Tergela not to die. His eldest son stood back in disbelief the tears welling up in his eyes. The Mandalore thought about consoling them in their time of sadness however coming from the man who just killed the one that they loved... No comfort could come from such blood stained hands. And so the Mand'alor simply and coldly turned away.

The sight behind him as soon as they say thier Mand'alor all of the host went into a roar, as some kind of torrent or unstoppable wave would, cheering for the victory they had just achieved. All felt they had won the entire planet from the Fett's and the Fett's them to submit justice. The jubilation of the crowd swelled Bralor's heart with a sense of confidence and pulled him from the abysmal grief that almost took hold of his soul. He regained his composer and faced his host raising his hands high so as to singal to them to quiet down. Now that his heart had swelled with confidence and he had attained victory for his people the words of Tergela echoed in his mind, 'Then this I must ask of you. I'm am the leader of these clans and they look to me to represent their best interest. I ask that you take care of my family and my people if I were to die tommrow.' With these words weighing heavily on his manda Bralor felt the generous trust that had been given to him. He would now repay that trust.

"My friends, you have now clearly seen that the Bralor clan is serious when we vaunt that we are worth three common Mandalorians. You have seen my strength, my passion, and my resolve. Now you may all witness my generousity, and my compassion toward my enemies. My foe asked of me before the fight to take care of his family and his clans. And today I shall. To the families of the dead I welcome them into my own home of Norg Bral there they will be treated as any heroic Mandalorian would with full honors for the sacrafice they had made today. And to all the clans who have opposed Mand'alor here today I say you may respond to the call of war of your own choosing none of you will have to sacrafice anymore without the consent of your own free will. However I expect that you honor the agreement and do not stand in the way of others who wish to heed my call for change and a brighter future for all Mandalorians..."

A blast echoed through the air at the very moment Bralor went to begin a new sentence of sweet and eloquent words. This is when those treachrous Dar'manda took the opportunity to strike. The radiant lance of energy shot forth and found it's target on the back of Zuthus Bralor. The beam coming from the host of the Fetts in the midst of the crowd seemingly out of no where. Fortune would have it though that the Mand'alor supernatural armor withstood the high powered blaster shot, he fell to the ground as if to fall from injuries. However he rolled into his fall and faced the direction he thought the shot came from with his aspis energy shield drawing his rifle and pointing in the direction of the host on his guard for a further assault. The sinister Dar'manda whom were dispersed among the Host of Fett Clans were all equally disappointed with the result of the shot so they all decided to come out of there cowardly hiding spaces and fire upon the Mand'alor with the hopes that they would score the killing shot. A reckless manuever it may seem to the outside observer but the host was already bustling with the clamer of good people whom would honor the argreement that were demanding who fired the shot. As well many of the Bralor clans were rushing from the host to protect thier leader so the time to act was coming fast.

However before these dispicable Dar'Manda were even able to draw their weapons the shinying star of the fair and beautiful Mando'ade by the name of Isko made her and her fellow clansmen presences known to these disgraceful beasts by capturing them in the electric fury of stun nets. They were then rounded up and hogged tied with Isko taking the whole lot of them which counted to the number of five and dragged their bodies out into the open field. She then nodded a nod towards Bralor that told him all he needed to know.

"So you conspired to kill me after the fight if your clansmen lost huh?" The Mandalore asked rhetorically. "Who is the one that shot at me?"

Isko pointed at the one that fired the lance of radiant energy.

Bralor took off the helmet of the Dar'manda. "Look at me." Bralor told the Dar'Manda severely. He did and was shot in the face the flesh crackling into burnt ash and his body slumped forward and lied to rest.

"Who is the leader?"

Isko pointed at the one that brought the group together.

Bralor took off the helmet of this Dar'Manda. "Look at me." this Dar'Manda did his best to advert his gaze from the Mand'alor. The Mand'alor grab the mans hair and jerked it to face him. He then proceeded to gouge the mans eyes, crush his hands, break the mans jaw, open his mouth and cut out his tongue out. He then kicks him towards the Fett clans.

"Any Mando'ade who is willing to conspire to murder in violation of an agreement between clans is Dar'Manda. And this is what will happen to any Dar'Manda who does such things." He pointed to the dead man and the leader. "They will either end up dead or never able to speak, see or write any evil."

He then turned back to Isko with body full of fury. "Take the rest of these men and cut their tongues out. They are now slaves of Mandalore."

Bralor then turned towards his clansmen and was welcomed to a hero's applause that shook the very fields of Tur'an.
