Senate Rotunda
Coruscant
Office of the Chief of State

Memorandum for: General Cracken
Director of New Republic Intelligence (DNRI)
Subject: IMC Vehicle Production

General, thank you for your report this morning re: the IMC's reported intention to manufacture vehicles of war for its own use. Confirmed or not, I agree with you that we need to know more about this, and I think it's important that the generosity that the New Republic and this administration has shown to business is not taken advantage of. I would like you to send to the NRI's safehouses on Fondor and Procopia however many additional assets and personnel as are necessary to monitor these events closely.

Also, I know the NRI long ago ended its surveillance operations on OSC manufacturing plants, but now that they're under the ownership of the IMC, what is your assessment of the cost and practicality of reconstituting that program? If you can forward a figure to my office this afternoon (before 1600 would be ideal), I'd be appreciative, and I'll make sure you have an authorization on your desk tomorrow morning. Thanks again, General. Let's make sure we keep the IMC a priority.

Eli Fitzgerald
Chief of State

Memorandum for: Eli Fitzgerald
Chief of State, the New Republic
Subject: Re: IMC Vehicle Production
Classification: Secret (CTX-Directive), Medium Priority

One priority among many, Chief of State. Who was it who said that one must choose their battles wisely? But we're agreed, that there can't be any sort of "security" excuse for the IMC to employ tanks and, if our reports are correct, Juggernauts of the A4 or A5 variety (though it's worthy of note that our reports, as you know, are preliminary). As far as reinstituting surveillance of IMC facilities, we don't really find any significant cost impediments. I've sent the details to you, as requested. I've also commed ahead to Procopia and Fondor with their new mission profile, and to expect reinforcement.

I'll make sure you're updated regularly. Cracken, out.

General Airen Cracken
New Republic Intelligence
