| Senators, my friends and former colleagues, and many new faces as well, it is a pleasure to see you all again after so short a time out of office. This is, of course, a business call and not a social one, but Mr. Chair, let the record show that I may be convinced to purchase a round of drinks for any of you who wish to join me after today's session (within reason, of course, as my salary is no longer what it once was, and a percentage of it is donated to my philanthropic endeavors). My friends, I come before you today rather improbably to petition for the Senate's recognition of the notorious Patriot Defense Services, Incorporated. I have, upon speaking with the former interim CEO, Mr. Sushere (since his brother, Dustil Sushere, seems to have disappeared quite suspiciously), purchased the rights to the defense contractor. My first action as the de facto, primary shareholder and CEO was to review all of PDS's documents, assets, personnel and operations. My second action was to forward all of this information immediately to New Republic Intelligence, so that they can be made completely aware of any of PDS's former, seditious activities. My third action was to immediately fire all current employees of the corporation, insofar as some are unaccounted for, some are in Republic custody, and few seemed to have drawn a salary. My fourth action, which is ongoing, is to constitute a proper Board of Directors, which will draft a proper business model and oversee the sale of the company's shares. It is my intention to rehabilitate this corporation, Senators, into a legitimate, model defense contractor, allied firmly with the New Republic, much as I once did with the OSC. Gone are the days when Patriot Defense Services will operate in secrecy, as nothing more than a paramilitary, terrorist organization. No longer will it station its employees in distant, hidden bases without paying or feeding them. No longer will it galavand about the galaxy without regard or consideration of the law, and no longer will it send thousands of its men to their deaths, unnecessarily. PDS will henceforth, with your approval, be a legitimate and transparent company, that serves clients, not ideology. Thus I ask for your recognition of the company, under new leadership and repudiating the old. And, if any legal charges are to be brought against former members of the corporation, I ask that the charges be brought against those members, not against the company itself (which until now has barely even been a legal entity). | If Loran is doing exactly what he is doing with Patriot Defense Services, Inc. Then I have no problem giving my vote of confidence on recognizing the company. | As aforementioned, Senator Ray, the names of all former personnel and all records from the company have been forwarded to New Republic Intelligence. Under my leadership, the PDS no longer associates with these individuals (who have all been fired), and fully supports the Republic pursuing them with force and bringing them to justice for the terrorism they have committed on your world. | I vote for recognition of the new face to PDS, inc., and I thank Mr. Loran for both his efforts to reel in a rogue company and strives towards justice being served for the atrocities committed at Dantooine. It is unfortunate that you did not hold the former personnel for the NRi, however, as that would have skipped the very time consuming task of finding them again.

| I'm sure we're all familiar with former Representative Loran's business expertise, and his proven ability to take a company of relatively minor import and make it into an enterprise massive both in size and success. I thank him, also, for cooperating with the NRI to disclose this company's vigilantism and apparent cooperation with the Remnant. Without objection, recognition of the company is granted, its licenses are to be reinstated, and so long as the PDS does not associate with its former employees, my administration will bring criminal charges only against those employees, as requested, and not against your company.
