Greetings,

I have talked with the government of my homeworld, and we have been trying to come up with a solution regarding faster and easier transportation from Mowgle to other Republic member worlds. I realize proposing this may be very expensive, and possibly dangerous. I would like to propose that the New Republic build a small hyperspace route from Corellian Run to Perlemian Trade Route for Mowgle and other member worlds to be capable of travelling faster and more reliable to travel to other worlds.

Tremaine Fowlkes,
Senator of Mowgle

"A question; I was under the impression that a Hyperspace route was a route found by explorers and charters, and not one that could be built. Perhaps the Senator from Mowgle is requesting that we commission more charters with which to find a quicker and more efficient route to connect Mowgle with the rest of the galaxy?"

If I may (considering commerce as somewhat of an expertise of mine), the good Representative Bo'var is correct; hyperlanes cannot be "built," but rather must be discovered through the efforts, the explorations and often the lives of many adventurers and cartographers. In this case, the Perlemian Trade Route and the Corellian Run have been in operation for over 25,000 years, and there has not yet been found a link between them. Simply put, it's a fool's errand.

However, I would agree with Mr. Bo'var's suggestion that more commissions be granted to explore for suitable hyperlanes to Mowgle, from its neighboring worlds and trade routes. It would be dangerous and, frankly, fatal for most explorers, but should even one succeed, it would be quite profitable and allow for more agricultural imports to worlds such as Coruscant, or Brentaal.

I am in agreement for the discovery of more hyperspace lanes, however the drawback is that it is risky and no doubt would we be sending a blind eye into the galaxy. But I agree with Senator Cambrist that with the discovery of more routes, could no doubt lead to the fast and increase trade between worlds.

“While I too agree that it would be both profitable and expedient to ‘find’ a better route to Mowgle and other outlying worlds I question the reality in such an endeavor. Can we, the Republic, in such a time of visible financial straights, really afford to spend the necessary money on such a task? I think not.

“Please understand that I do not hold Mowgle or its respected representative at fault for any of our discomfort, nor do I doubt the sincerity in this request, my concerns lay with the entire New Republic and frankly speaking I cannot see the entire New Republic profiting from this expenditure at this time.

"If put to a vote I feel I must vote against."

Jory Carson
SENATOR
