Room 311, New Republic Emergancy Care Wing
New Republic General Hospital, Coruscant
22:00 Hours... In the dim lit room, remained only two men. One of the men stood standing, cross-armed, his restless eyes gazing at the man in front of him. The man in front of him, was an older man, who was in the typical admissions clothing, hooked up to all sorts of machines that monitored his breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. For once in his life, Havoc felt sorry for the man that laid in the bed. For the man in the bed was Exar. And besides the sounds of the machine, was the mask that Exar wore so that he could breathe with ease as he slumbered into the deep. As for the reason the Jedi Knight was here... was simple. To see his friend off tonight. But how did he know that the former Dantooine Senator was about to die? Havoc called it a feeling in his gut which did not subside till he arrived. A man that was full of torment and hate for numerious things, was now in a small state of peace and calmness. It was as if the feelings went away in respect for Exar, whom had helped Havoc much of his time during the Civil War. Though, Havoc blamed himself as he continued to stand there, a nurse walking past him to go check on Exar. "Has he moved or made any type of noise?" She asked him, and his grin was the only way to express the state of his friend. "For a medically qualified individual... what a retarded question..." Now wasn't the time for any slick remarks. This was a time to pray for Exar time in need. Havoc sighed a little and let a simple word escape his body. "No...". The nurse frowned and proceeded away. Once she left, Havoc proceeded a little bit closer to the bed and looked at the machine. "Exar... I know your ears would enjoy this..." Muttered the Jedi as he reached over to turn the sound off of the machines.
No amount of training could save Exar's state at this time. While the Force was a mircle worker at many occasions, an old man;s body was his. And his responsibility to take care of. The force could only prolong his death... but Havoc knew that his friend would not want to remain a vegetable all his life. Looking down at his watch, he looked at the machine. "I just want to say something to do..." Havoc spun around and knelt down to where his mouth was by Exar's ear. Taking in a breathe, he whispered a little. "I love you, old man. When my family was taken from me... you became a father to me. Granted I gave you trouble... and I'm sorry I could not be there to help with Dantooine... but I'm here now..." Besides talking to the grave of his wife... Havoc choked up a little. Feelings of grief penetrated the Jedi's emotions as he spoke to his friend. Exar had faced much in his lifetime, and now as much as Havoc wasn't an open Jedi a lot of the time, he was glad his friend was able to rest in a place with pillows, a blanket, and a mattress. He would be given the decency to rest in comfort and peace unlike Havoc... who when he would leave this place, would assume his role as a Jedi again, and be filled by the emotions of those around him, and of those on other planets. Sure he wasn';t the most 'user friendly' Jedi around, but he got the job done (Atleast to him) and that was all that matter. Raising up, he turned the volumn back up on the machine and returned to the foot of the bed.
As he stood there, the final show was about to start. The nurse would proceed in and check up on Exar. "The normal ratings... " She said as she started to leave the room. However as she left, the machines begun to beep. Havoc stood there arms crossed as the room begun to pour in medical staff and droids. Moving into a corner, The Jedi watched as they attempted to get Exar's pulses back to normal rate. Just watching, Havoc called upon the force to help take his friend to the afterworld. Exar was already in a weak state and any attempt to revive him was gone, for Havoc felt it. With the effects of the force, Exar's heart rate soon stopped showing and response and by then, a small tear had arised from the eye of Havoc. When the medical staff had declared Exar dead, they turned to him. "Are you his family?" Havoc nodded as the machines were turned off. As sad as the moment was, that ringing noise grew annoying. "We are sorry for his death... ensure the Senator gets a proper burial." Nodding some, they left the room, allowing Havoc a few minutes before his body was moved. Standing at the footing of his bed, Havoc stared at the lifeless body of Exar, whom was now stripped of machines. "You're free now... Exar. I won't forget what you've done... not only for me, but for Dantooine..." Bowing a little, Havoc turned towards the exit.
Just before leaving, he would fully shut off the lights. Another tear would fall from the eye of Havoc as he proceeded down the hallway. As he entered the elevator, he took a brief moment to look down the hallway one final time as members of the hospital entered the darkened room. Smirking some, he hit the button. "Dantooine will shine brighter with you as the sun... Senator..." When the elevator would hit the first floor, The Jedi pulled out his commlink. "GP... we're going on a trip..."
