Senator Karath, with all due respect, the people of Brentaal (and I daresay many Core Worlds) are growing tired of Corellia's cavalier attitude toward smuggling, and its flippant disregard for laws and regulations against it of which the Commerce Council has often reminded you. There's absolutely no reason why Brentaal, which is just now recovering from a crippling recession, should have to lose revenues and tolls because Corellia, a few parsecs down the trade spine, has decided it has some spunky, rebellious tradition that places it above the law (I remind you also that counter-smuggling efforts were a key component of the Bastion Accords). There's also no reason why Brentaal should have to spend more credits on interdiction simply because Corellia doesn't bother to.

Senator Karath, I demand that your world use its forces to crack down on smuggling on the Corellian Trade Spine, or Brentaal will do it for you.

Senator Sir Reuke Cambrist, Brentaal
Chairman of the Commerce Council

This has been something in discussion for some time within the Corellian government. We do understand the frustration some may have, but I remind you...Corellia will govern Corellia...not Coruscant...not Brentaal...not Neimoidia...but Corellia. Should Brentaal infringe upon the Corellian Sector, the Corellian government will have no choice but to consider it an act of aggression and declare war upon Brentaal in an effort to defend our sovereignty and territory.

Back on a more pleasent tone of discussion, Corellia is currently undergoing a transformation of Defense Forces representative of our duties as Sectorial military forces and adaptive to the role demanded upon it, and CorSec, for many years that has not been undertaken. An announcement should come soon from Corellia on this matter and other policy changes as well as organizational changes.

I thank Senator Cambrist for respectfully bringing the feeling of Brentaal to our attention. And I want you to know, despite what it may appear, we are listening.

Orion Karath
Manager from June 2009 to Present, Administrator from December 2011 to Present
