Serial Killer Apprehended on Naboo

Theed, Naboo — The serial murderer known colloquially as the "Narglatch Killer" has been apprehended in his flat in the capital city of Theed, the Royal Security Forces (RSF) announced today. Identified as a Human male with black hair, conspicuous sideburns, and a firm build, the suspect is believed responsible for the deaths of at least 5 denizens of Naboo, whose bodies have been discovered over several weeks loosely concealed under hedges or beside lakes in and around Theed.

"The Naboo are a peaceful people," noted Senator Artemis Vanden (Naboo) in response to this morning's arrest, "We are unaccustomed to these sorts of heinous killings, and His Majesty rightly convened a special task force of the RSF to find this murderer, arrest him, and end his senseless rampage. I am pleased that, today, they have seemingly done just that. We commend the RSF on its work, and we sincerely hope that the families of those slain will find some amount of comfort in the knowledge that, as of now, no more innocent people will die, tragically, as their loved ones did."

The suspect (who was evaluated this morning by criminologists, and tentatively determined to be a psychopath) had been referred to as the "Narglatch Killer" because of the three blades in each hand he would use to kill his victims, similar to the narglatch—a clawed predator particular to Naboo. The slayings were traumatic for the people of Theed, a tranquil, beautiful city famous for its patronage of the arts and sciences, and also for its low crime. While the suspect was at large, the RSF stepped up speeder and foot patrols of the streets, and warned residents to stay in well lighted, populated areas. Today, following the suspect's arrest, they assured Theed that the city was now safe again.

A candlelight vigil for the victims of the "Narglatch Killer," who included men, women and even a child, is scheduled for Natunda at the Theed Palace Courtyard. King Mercutio will address the gathering and eulogize the victims.
