Concurrent with the events above Tralus

In the jungle, a few kilometers outside Rellidir, word reached that a ship carrying weapons for them was being halted by the Corellian Navy. Immediatly, the word went out and the General of the 4th Tralus Division immediatly decided to take action and distract the Corellians. There were four Forward Operation Centers near their position, the primary location of local peacekeeper operations. A brigade, totalling 3,900, was focused in these camps, with another two brigades located on the planet, leaving the Corellians with 11,700 troops on the entire planet. The same went with Talus, where their forces were even greater. By the time the freighter was being docked in orbit, their sappers hit the barriers of the camps, allowing troops, in total numbering 36,900 along with several hundred tanks, surged into the camps, catching the outnumbered peacekeepers unaware.

Unfortunatly, their weakness against the Corellians, who were highly trained, was their lack of training. It was their numbers and belief in their ideal that would lead them to victory. And as this assault commenced, a message was relayed to the Corellian Governor of the planet. It read:
" Alec Jameson,
Over five hundred years ago, the people of Talus and Tralus declared their independence from Corellia, and within ten years, solidified it with their blood. It is this blood that runs through the veins of each man of the Federation of the Double Worlds, a government that still stands to this day. A government Corellia took advantage of during the insurrection of two years ago and cast us in exile, left in our native wilderness and hoped to die. But death will not be our fate, but yours. The Double Worlds shall be free once more, and Centerpoint ours...even if we have to march to Corellia itself and on the steps of the Capital Tower. And it is that march towards absolute freedom that begins today...with your capture and execution.
Signed,
Jonathan Ames
President of the Federation of the Double Worlds"

As explosions ripped through the peremiter of the Forward Operating Centers, the call of an aggressive offensive went out to the planetary command center. In Rellidir, Brigadier General Silas Stone was reading over the letter that had arrived earlier this morning at the Governor's Office. He turned to one of his staff, "Captain, send this to Intelligence for examination. I want Major Benning at the Command Center by 1000 hours, or heads will roll." he said. The Captain saluted and went off to carry out his duties, while he went outside, and as he put his beret back on, he heard distant gunfire. As he began a quick walk to his speeder, a call came in on his commlink. "General Stone." he said, following which a slightly paniced voice came through. "General, FOC Spear is reporting a breach of perimeter and a heavy rebel offensive attack. Reports are confirmed and similar from FOC Sword, Hammer, and Anvil." reported a Lieutenant. "Copy that." he said, before getting in and making the quick five minute ride to the Command Center.

---

Staff Sergeant Greg Fletcher sat at his desk, giving a young man talks about joining the Corellian Army. He was apprehensive about joining due to the political climate on Tralus. Although inwardly frustrated, Fletcher remained cool and friendly. "Look, the FedDub movement is on the downfall. We have diplomats working on getting negotiations started for peace talks and reintegration of the Rebels back into the Corellian government. We are all Corellians and must work together in unity, towards our common goals. Joining the Army, will help in that goal." he said, barely believing the words coming out of his mouth. He personally knew the stone walling they had gotten from Rebel leaders, but his inner thoughts were broken when he heard a sound of a small, feint sound. In his office, it was noticeable enough to grab his attention and the attention of the boy. "Wait one moment." he said to the boy, as he rose and then walked outside. There, he heard the distictive, and now definately noticeable, sound of the artillery guns placed around the city firing. "What in the Nine Hells..." he said to himself. As he walked inside, klaxons went off and a voice came over the intercom, "This is General Stone, all forces under my contral prepare to execute Code Red on my command.", which caused him to run into the office and get on his comm.

"Sergeant Major, this is Recruit Office Three requesting confirmation on Code Red order." he said. He got a confirmation, and slowly set the comm back down. The kid looked freaked out. "Code Red? What the hell is Code Red?" he asked, his voice shaking a little. He sat down in his chair. "Code Red is a contingency plan. Should the rebels mount an offensive and attacks in overwhelming force near the capital, Corellian military forces are to respond with all available assetts, and begin an immediate evacuation of all beings considered VIPs or at risk for execution in the event of a rebel takeover." he said. He took a moment, then heard the other Recruiters rushing prospects out the doors and off to where they needed to be. "Look, kid, find some shelter. If you have a lover, be with them right now." he said, shooing him out the door, and proceeding himself to the Armory after locking the office doors.

On Corellia, in the Phoenix War Memorial Center, General Silas Henderson watched the reports come in from Tralus. He was Commander of the Double World Unified Combatant Command. DUBCOM was a lowly position. SELCOM, DRACOM, SECCOM, and CORCOM were the other UCCs, and each had more forces than his. He had a grand total of 23,500 troops and personnel under his command, including those in his headquarters here. The Phoenix Center, named after a insurrection fought against, and won by Corellia, over two thousand years ago. It was a war celebrated by the Corellian Military, and was their last major engagement until the recent Insurrection that was fought, was the brain of the Corellian Military. As word passed up the chain of command of what was occuring, more personnel from other commands entered his command center, simply watching events unfold in awe. Before he knew it, the Joint Chiefs were in his command center. He saluted to them, and then stood at attention before the Chair. "General Henderson, may I present Major General Douglas Hein, commander of the 24th Spaceburne Division." said General Joseph Davies, an office from the Starfighter Corps. He shook hands with General Hein. "General Hein and his division is being assigned to you for Tralus, as well as 23rd Spaceborne, who will drop into Talus. They'll deploy in twelve hours. In twenty four hours, operational command of the Ranger Regiment and 4th and 5th Special Operations Groups will be transferred over to your command as they deploy to the double worlds." said General Davies. Henderson could barely believe it; the command that was at first the backwater, death of your career posting quickly had turned into the hot seat. He immediatly went to work, working out a plan with Hein before the man took off with his men for Tralus. They would hammer down the rebellion with a massive force, and hopefully end it for good.

---

Over the FOCs, artillery shells rained down upon the rebel troops, as the members of the 98th Light Infantry Brigade Combat Team, began a retreat upon taking heavy losses, hopefully reaching Rellidir and the reinforcement of the 97th Light Infantry Brigade Combat Team. As they began their retreat, X-Wings and Y-Wings screamed in over head, delivering deadly bombing and strafing runs on the Rebel troops, hopefully discouraging them from pushing on the retreating Corellians. Already, they had took 1,000 in casualties.

While they took heavy casualties from the shelling and air support, they still pressed the initiative, chasing down the Corellian force. They also had air support of their own, lurking in the area. A squadron of Razor Fighters puilled up from the edge of the treetop and immediatly began to engage the X-Wings and Y-Wings, with two more squadrons swarming from high altitude, on the unsuspecting Corellian fighters. They would rip into them with unrelentless fury, and on the ground such fury also took place, as they did not believe in taking prisoners...not today. Any Corellian found, either wounded, captured, or through surrender, was executed. Thus would be their policy through the entire campaign to retake the capital, including members of the Corellian imposed government and their families.

On the opposite side of Rellidir, a squadron of MorningStar-A Fighters escorted two squadrons of MorningStar-C Fighters, which had been modified for atmospheric bombing purposes. This force rolled in towards Rallidir at high speed, looking to begin a bombing of the city. Across the planet, similar Fighter Groups began bombing runs against major cities, focusing in areas of the cities with a concentration of Corellian facilities or personnel. Civilian losses were bound to happen, but considered an unfortunate effect of war to their movement. The end justified the means, and their end goal was their freedom and independence. They fight for it, and obtain it at any cost.

As the rebels pushed forward, the air strike on their position stepped up, with a total of 12 BTL-S3 Y-Wings and 18 T-65AC4 X-Wings, operating in groups of 2 Y-Wings and 3 X-Wings, continued their strafing of the rebel ground troops, loosing one of the groups, which their blasted hulks went crashing into the ground troops, while 6 more X-Wings joined the fray, and the escorting X-Wings began breaking off to engage the enemy fighters. Meanwhile, in Rallidir, a Squadron of X-Wings took off, soaring up to meet the incoming bomber wave, splitting up into two groups of 6, one in high altitude above the clouds, and one down low just above the treetop. When they came upon the bomber group, they performed a scissor manuevere, ripping into the slow bombers.

Meanwhile, the evacuations went quickly, with the troops in the city being occupied by such rather than lending reinforcement to the 98th. The 99th Light Infantry BCT was now moving towards the capital, expected to be there within a day. Most of the troops in the city were hoping they would be able to last that long after hearing the heavy losses the 99th was facing. The sound of transports surging upwards were almost matched by another squadron of X-Wings were launched for interception duties. Across the planet, small pockets of Corellian starfighters attempt to do so, but in most cases were unsuccessful in at least stopping the bombings.

Gwenevere Solo was a rookie reporter, and thought the Tralus assignment was just to get her to shut up about getting a story. For the past month, she had been embedded in various units throughout the peacekeeping effort, and covering the random bits of news that came out of Tralus, but otherwise was bored out of her mind here. So when she awoke at ten in the morning to the sounds of alarms, announcements over the city wide PA system, and more specifically to her hotel, the sound of entire squadrons of X-Wings taking off with the muted sound of artillery guns firing in the background, she was frozen for a moment, half by shock and the other half by a hangover from the crew party they had had last night.

After making herself appear decent, and like she had been up longer than ten minutes, she took a stance at her window, with the crew shooting, showing the events out the window and accompanying sounds. Once they had confirmation on the live feed, she rolled. "This Gwenevere Solo, reporting live from Rallidir, Tralus. On a normal morning here on Tralus, the quiet has been broken by the sounds of combat. In a sudden defiance of the reunification efforts that have been underway for three months now, the Double World rebels have launched a sudden and unprovoked attack on Corellian troops. You can hear the fighting, only a few kilometers away, increase into what is believed to be a fierce battle between rebel guerilla forces and the Corellian 97th Light Infantry Brigade Combat Team." she said, taking a breath as a bomb went off on the building across the street, the concussion sending her forward, off her feet, and into the floor. Immediatly, the sounds of aerial combat and the explosion of an aircraft flooded the sounds taken in from the camera. Gwenevere took to her feet. "Damn..." she said as she picked her mic back up. "Apologies for that, it appear the rebels have air power and are proceeding to attempt aerial bombing of the capital. And it appears we have a report..." she said as her producer handed her a piece of flimsiplast. "It appear in orbit, the Corellian Gunship Kolene was bombed in a alleged terrorist attack of unknown origin, suspected to be the Double World rebels. 44 servicemembers are dead, and 23 wounded...and my personal condolences go out to the family of those brave men and women." she said, proceeding to give a personal account of the events of the day.

((Some auto will occur here))

They began attempting to press into the Brigade, flanking them on both sides and pressing them away from a path towards the capital city and into a mountain face to trap them and wipe them out. IFVs and ICVs helped tremendously in this, assets built over the years. Unfortunatly their troops were unprepared for the effectiveness of Corellian forces. They had took heavy casualties, but most were from the impact of shot down fighters into their ground troops. They pressed their advantage, with the 98th in full retreat. They pressed into the mountain, called Bull Mountain, and they entire Brigade was slaughtered. As night fell over this part of the planet, they made their way to the peak of the mountain range, and under cover of darkness, with sporadic air strikes and artillery strikes during the process, made their march to the capital city.

((Evacuations allowed to succeed. Rallidir bombing group destroyed after dropping half of its load. Most bombing groups succeed, but are tracked down to their airbases which are summarily struck through air raids and orbital bombardment from the CR90s above.))

][ Tralus - Corellian System - Corellian Sector - Core Worlds ][

Jal Temps shook his head as his T-wing emerged in the Corellian System. Ahead lay Talus, one of the famed Twin Worlds. Around him, the eleven other pirates that made up his 'fleet' were emerging in loose order. Off to his right and forty-five degrees degrees back, his sometime partner, Imlo Klapp, emerged with an equal number of R-41 Starchasers. Their mission, which was imply labeled enough, had been to back any insurgents on either of the Twin Worlds. The sum of money had been quite large and the risks well worth the gain.

"I don't know where he got his information from," Klapp's voice came in raspy over Temps' headset, "But the comm traffic seems to confirm it. Hell, we got a pair of gunships ahead."

"Time to earn our pay. Green flight, lock and fire."

A total of forty-eight proton torpedoes, issued forth from the T-wing fighters, issued forth to flash outwards and strike at the paid of DP20 gunships (twenty-four per vessel, a goodly amount). The agile craft split right after they fired and, though less maneuverable than an A-wing, had enough oomph in them to dodge an opening salvo that was likely to come in return. Behind them and rapidly accelerating, half the R-41's were arming their load of concussion missiles. The other half had been refitted with proton torpedoes to assist the T-wing attackers. Less maneuverable, they were the heavy assault element of this strike and run that was meant to assist the unknown forces on the ground.

As he pulled his ship into a spiral, Temps thought back to the odd, rasping, hooded man who seemed bent under the weight of a sickness too great to bear as he'd passed over the account information to a large amount of credits. Temps shrugged mentally. It wasn't his job to know how the man had known of an insurgency. Temps could only assume there were contacts planetside who passed on information. Hell, that was how everybody operated these days. The principle of greed.

For now though, Temps intended to concentrate on surviving so that he could receive the rest of his hard-earned cash. There were ships to destroy and a lot of ground to strafe.

Not if the New Republic had anything to say about it. While Temps was thinking of the odd, rasping, hooded man who had hired him, he and his wingmates should have been thinking about the flight of E-wing starfighters that they'd evidently not noticed while on their way in; three of the fighters had been on patrol very near (if slightly behind) the pirates' position when they arrived, while another three had since joined the first ones and formed up—that is, 6 of them total—in pursuit of the older and slower T-wings and R-41s. The Republic's starfighters had accompanied the MC30c Frigate Deliverance, which had been dispatched by Chief of State Gavrisom to monitor Corellia's prosecution of the insurgency. The frigate could be seen faintly in the distance, near Centerpoint Station.

Major De'Qora, who happened to be leading the E-wings on patrol, couldn't believe his luck as he and his fellow pilots lined up missile locks on one unsuspecting pirate after another, and as the Deliverance confirmed their permission to engage (the New Republic was not to get involved in the Twin Worlds dispute, but these fighters had clearly not come from either Tralus or Talus, or Corellia for that matter, and their approach vector wasn't consistent with Drall or Selonia).

De'Qora and his wing were too late to stop the first missile volley, but by the time the pirates had fired and peeled off, the E-wings had rejoined them—six proton torpedoes lanced forth at their targets, locked entirely on the R-41s at the back of the formation (they would be forced to abandon their attack run or be destroyed or, more realistically, both). If they hadn't noticed the E-wings before, they certainly would now; the 6 fighters split again into two flights of three, one flight pulling up and the other dropping down and all of them turning obliquely to starboard to engage the T-wings which, by now, would be coming around from that direction.

"Ready another round of torpedoes for the T-wings, fire when in range, then engage at will," De'Qora ordered. It would all likely occur before Temps and his T-wings had time to ready their own torpedoes on the considerably more agile and difficult to target E-wings. Meanwhile, an additional three E-wings had been dispatched from the Deliverance and would now be approaching from that direction, soon to join the skirmish (the Deliverance itself remained in position to defend Centerpoint Station, fearing this pirate raid could be a feint to draw it away).

The Corellian Gunships, meanwhile, appeared to be taken by surprise since they did not return fire on the pirates or even attempt evasive maneuvers. Perhaps the crews were asleep, although they wouldn't be for long as each was impacted by some 20 missiles, straining the vessels' shields and, in one or two cases, breaking through to explode against their hulls. As far as De'Qora could make out from this distance, however, there wasn't yet any significant damage. "Move it!" De'Qora found himself thinking of the Corellians, who for whatever reason had seemingly not responded at all to the attack.

][ Tralus - Corellian System - Corellian Sector - Core Worlds ][

Perhaps it was bad luck, but the first six R-41s to be destroyed were three each carrying proton torpedo loads and concussion missile loads. The remaining six, realizing they were under attack, broke to the left. The three with proton torpedo loads fired theirs as quickly as possible, seeing as how the E-wings had br0oken aside to engage the T-wings at this point. This meant that the gunship with the most damage to its shields would be fired upon by a total of twenty-four proton torpedoes (as the standard loadout for an R-41 is four warheads per tube). The other three Starchasers, however, had broken to the left (a position which those whom had fired the torpedoes would break for once their attack run was completed), bringing them around some distance behind the E-wings, which had likely moved to engage Temps and his flight.

Now Temps was an experienced raider. Years of assaulting Remnant, Republic and, back in its day, Imperial convoys and sites had given him appreciation of the firepower that could be brought to bear, especially against older craft. The E-wing was a superb fighter that his own flight of T-wings could not outgun, especially as they had expended their full load of torpedoes. Either way, they had done a job they'd been paid to do, and Temps had no reason to die and be unable to spend his earned cash. As such, with the radar showing a soon-to-occur head-on dogfight with the E-wings, Temps called for his pilots to scatter. The six E-wings would have more difficulty locking their slower-moving proton torpedoes onto a suddenly broken up formation as Green Flight scattered every which way. They would break for the nearest hyperspace exit.

To counter the threat of the trio of E-wings heading from the Deliverance, the trio of R-41's would assault down from above and the front, attacking at maximum range with laser and ion cannons. Although they were not as maneuverable, they did outgun the E-wings by one cannon. Hopefully this fire would allow Klapp and his two wingmen enough time to attack and escape, as their path had brought them onto the rear of the six E-wings who had moved to engage the T-wings. Packing eight concussion missiles each, they cut loose at the undefended backs of their targets. With four concussion missiles per E-wing, they would have a fun time dodging all, and quite likely have to break off their attack on Temps' group.

(( I know I shouldn't do this without asking Karath's permission first, but who knows where he is? So, if he really objects later on I suppose we can always retcon a different outcome in here. He'll thank me though, I think. Okay, here goes... ))

---------------------------------------------
The Corellian Gunship Bela Vistal, whose shields for all intents and purposes were gone, had finally gotten itself in gear—and not a moment too soon. Its bright orange engines blazed to life and the Gunship went on the move just as the next missile volley was fired from the Starchasers. Crippled though it was, the DP20 was still fast and immediately made a run for it with the concussion missiles in close pursuit. It deliberately dropped low into the atmosphere, daring the projectiles to follow which, of course, they did; many would become trapped in the planet's gravity well and, unable to compensate for the new conditions, waver and eventually burn up and detonate in the mesosphere. The few remaining missiles would bottleneck, collide with each other, and similarly detonate before reaching the target.

The Bela Vistal would then pull up, its hull blackened but otherwise unscathed (it had been cautious to only graze the atmosphere itself, since, considering its breached compartments, a complete reentry would have destroyed the whole ship). Its shields were steadily replenishing, and it was safe for now—although it would clearly need a month or more of repairs before it was safely operable again.

Meanwhile, the scattering of the T-wings had foiled the missile attack on them; the E-wings instead broke off to engage them at will. "Pick your targets and go," De'Qora said over the comm, "Victor 2, cover 4. Victor 6, cover 5. Victor 3, you're with me. Let's go," he ordered (each fighter, thus, was designated either an attack or escort role; one would attack, the other would hang behind it and provide cover). It would take several moments to form up, however, and in the meantime the scene—complete with the scattering T-wings—was simply too chaotic for the Starchasers to reasonably achieve a missile lock.

Compounding the difficulty for the Starchasers were the additional three E-wings (Victor 10, 11 and 12) who'd closed on them head on with their targeting computers beeping affirmative. One of the three would succumb to ion cannon fire and careen out of control, but not before all three of them loosed another proton torpedo each. The remaining two would engage the Starchasers at will, harrying them to distract from their disabled wingmate, but also from the other E-wings as well which, by now, had settled in behind their respective T-wing targets (only three total, sadly, because of the limitations of their formation) and fired with both lasers and torpedoes, as many as time permitted.

Major De'Qora, however, used only his lasers on "his" T-wing, aiming deliberately to knock out its engines and throw it off course before it could jump to lightspeed; if they could capture one of these people, all the better.

][ Tralus - Corellian System - Corellian Sector - Core Worlds ][

Seeing that the proton torpedoes had no effect, for the gunship must have had a clever pilot (damned crazy Corellians and their luck), the trio of Starchasers had indeed gone on to engage the trio of E-wings. With one down to ion cannon attacks, the odds should have been in the pirates' favor. Instead, two of the proton torpedoes struck home; the third being fooled by a timely emergence of chaff from the aft end of the third Starchaser, which rapidly wheeled about and headed outbound on the nearest hyperspace vector. There was no pay in dying for any cause.

Klapp and his remaining team (down to two, if one didn't count the fleeing Starchaser), had not had time to properly lock on to their E-wing targets. Overall, the fight seemed as if it was going rather badly for the pirate groups. Klapp himself, a scruffy, older human who had spent too much time smoking deathsticks in his youth, fired off a message to Temps, letting him know he was quite on his own. With the T-wings thus occupying the E-wings, Klapp had his opening and he and his pair of surviving pilots broke for hyperspace as well, leaving Temps and his group in quite a spot.

In rather rapid succession, four of the T-wings detonated from proton torpedo impacts, leaving Temps with only two-thirds of a squadron left trying to break free. His own fighter shuddered from multiple impacts, but the shields held still yet. Behind him, his wingman fell away, engines shot out by a rather tenacious Republic pilot. That wasn't good. The man had made sure to say that nobody was to be captured. Gritting his teeth, Temps gave the order to dive back into the fray fully, all T-wings converging their cannon on the damage fighter. Either everyone would leave or everyone would die. They'd been told that a fate worse than death awaited them if they were captured.

The E-wings were thrown into confusion momentarily as Temps and his remaining T-wings did a sudden about face. More confusing was the fact that they seemed to converge, chaotically, on their own damaged wingmate. "Form up on me," Major De'Qora ordered as he peeled away from the engagement, for two reasons; 1.) he recognized the risk posed to a large number of starfighters converging on the same point at great speed, and 2.) something strange was definitely going on here. Covering their tracks was, evidently, a higher priority for this bunch than escape. A simple pirate raid? Unlikely.

De'Qora shook his head as he watched from his cockpit the damaged T-wing be picked apart by its fellow starfighters' lasers. By this time, the E-wings had formed into two flights of four each (having been joined by Victor 11 and 12, who'd told the disabled Victor 10—which had fortunately drifted into a high, lazy orbit around Tralus—to sit tight for the Deliverance to retrieve it). The flight would then follow the escaping T-wings at a distance, taking occasional potshots with their lasers but otherwise not attempting to stop them. De'Qora told his R7 droid to detect their escape vector when they jumped to lightspeed, although he had a feeling that these pirates would be smarter than to be caught that way.

Figuring all this out was definitely above the Major's pay grade.

][ Tralus - Corellian System - Corellian Sector - Core Worlds ][

Klapp and his wingmen had already jumped out to hyperspace, in a route that would carry them, apparently, towards Dantooine. It wasn't aimed to be a direct route, but they'd been told that they might be tracked, so to make it appear as if Dantooine was indeed the area they were heading to. It reeked of subterfuge and Klapp didn't like it one bit.

Temps, meanwhile, was still juking and dodging, doing his best to keep his T-wing from being fired at any further. The E-wings had fallen back, which was a relief, and within a few moments, the jump to hyperspace was complete. Settling back in his seat, Temps swore under his breath. The sick man was going to pay extra for the losses his squad had taken. There weren't supposed to be any extra Republic vessels there. He sure as hell hadn't signed up for that. The destination for Temps' group had been near Dantooine as well, a few light-years out of the system. They would arrive in due time, meeting up with their mysterious employer. Then, Temps planned to get some answers and his payment.

Before the skirmish above Corellia...

AUTO: The Twin Worlds Rebellion goes into full swing as the Twin Worlds resistence never accepts the Republic's demanded ceasefire and continues to charge on, taking Tralus, as well as Talus, in simultaneous overnight assaults. The following morning, death squads would roam the cities, executing those found to be Corellian, Selonian, or Drall. That night the Corellians have their forces ready, and in the early morning hours of the following day, perform a full scale invasion of Talus and Tralus. By the end of the day, every major city on both worlds were secure and the FedDub forces would be on the run, back into the wilderness for a counter assault. In the morning of the next day, the NRDF forces would arrive.

Current...
Major General Douglas Hein was on the ground with his men the entire time, being the first Corellian soldier to set foot on Twin World soil. He showed it too, with various flesh wounds being obvious, scratches, cuts, and bruises. Two major wounds were a stab wound to the mid section, which thankfully missed any of his organs or arteries, and a blasterfire wound to the shoulder. Regardless, once he was patched up and able to move, he was on the front lines. Right now, they were sweeping out of what was left of their former FOBs on Tralus. Ahead of them, the 5th Special Forces Group, which was chasing and fighting the rebels all night. Three Battalions of Rangers were ahead of them, acting as their screening force, also staying up all night, while the men of his division rested. Behind them, the non-combat personnel were at work, recovering the bodies slaughter at Bull Mountain, and preparing them for a return home for burial. After enjoying some caf, he took down his small field tent, packed his gear, and prepared to move forward. "Radio ahead to the 5th. Tell them to hold their position while we catch up." he ordered.

((Ill have some more up tonight.))

Major General Hein walked slowly as he heard the feint pop of blasterfire from a distance. He rushed forward, as well as the rest of his division in its staggered line formation. Two kilometers ahead, the 5th Special Forces Group was engaging heavy resistance into a deep mountain face, which went up a high peak. As the Ranger battalions began to reinforce the 5th SFG's line, artillery and rockets out of the mountains began to fire, slowly gaining in number. Immediatly, they began to call in artillery strikes on what positions they could identify. By the time Hein made it to the line, fifteen minutes later, the forward observers assigned to them were just going with general locations. He immediatly ordered his mortar teams into the cover of the woods, and ordered them to open up as soon as possible, while division artillery slowed began to move into place. By the half hour mark of the engagement, it was full scale war breaking out between the two groups. By his estimate, they were facing a two mixed divisions of rebel forces. Although understrengthed in the respect of manpower, their artillery and armor support was on par. Rebel air cover was nowhere to be found, and after begining to take some losses from the fight, as the enemy began zeroing in on their positions, Hein made the decision to call in air support.

Two minutes later, four groups of two X-Wings came screaming in on the enemy positions, strafing with laser cannon fire and ripping off a torpedo on artillery or armor positions. This occured five more times, during which another two groups of two joined and ripped off six of the same strafing runs, before a group of four Y-Wings swooped in, dropping a total of 80 Proton Bombs on the front and middle of the enemy positions, taking out a majority of their heavy support, and causing the enemy forces to flee further into the mountains. Immediatly, after the field was clear, they stormed up the mountain, towards the enemy stronghold. They were delayed however, by a majority of the ground troops hit by the bombing run to be wounded or surrendering. Once their rear forces had caught up, unfortunately an hour later, while their X-Wing cover continued strafing runs on the enemy stronghold. Hein met with his Brigade Commanders, as well as commanders from their attached units, and planned their mode of assault. While a wide pass, which the enemy used to retreat into their stronghold, would allow the division to assault it in force, a small pass went into the rear of the stronghold, which the Rangers and Special Forces would use to attack the enemy's rear, and hopefully take out their leadership. It would be another two hours before artillery was in position to provide support and they would have complete air support again, but he decided they would go now.

As they marched up the two passes on the enemy, a comm message was sent out. "Attention all forces, this Senator Orion Karath. We have been given orders to stand down. I repeat stand down, and cease all offensive military operations." he said, with an obvious disgust in his voice. As he heard this, Hein turned around and threw his rifle against a nearby rock as hard as he could, shattering the rifle. Although he was not known as a overwhelmingly strong man, a combonation of a combat cocktail, testosterone, and adrenaline cause the sudden surge in strength. "DAMN IT!" he proceeded to scream as the orders was passed around. His forces would draw back into the capital city, forming a defensive perimeter, and waiting their new orders. Later, that night, they found out the circumstances to the cease fire, being pressured into the agreement by the New Republic with threats of military force. At least thats how the Corellian soldiers took it, and after so many of their brothers dying...they were out for blood. The next day, ceremonies were held at a new fort, Fort , established outside the capital city to where the troops were moved, honoring their dead. Along a section of open field between the fort and the city, Soldier's Cross' were set up, honoring all the Corellians who had fallen over the course of the renewed conflict. Here at the fort, the captured rebels were held, and interrogated for information. Honoring the cease-fire agreement, the Corellian ships in orbit withdrew to the very edge of the exclusion zone. The "Twin Worlds Ceasefire" was in effect, and the Corellians were steaming.
