Sir, I've been asked to relay Admiral Ackbar's—and my own—recommendation that Admiral Kieran Nadia be reinstated to command of the 5th Battle Group. He is a thoroughly decorated officer and, as I'm sure you know, a former Counsel to the Chief of State on Naval Affairs and Strategy (as well as, of course, a former commander of the 5th Fleet who, thus, is uniquely familiar with the capabilities of New Class vessels; this is a familiarility particularly useful in light of the recent demotion of General A'baht). We feel, as we dutifully reorganize our fleets and officers in accordance with your new strategy, that Mr. Nadia would be of harmonious service to the fleet reinstated in his former position. Also, although the Admiral does not presume to make judgments on policy, especially on matters on which he is not formally briefed, it does appear that the recent "Bimmiel Affair," in which Admiral Nadia was incidentally involved, was in large part instigated by the Imperial Remnant, perhaps deliberately, perhaps not. Has the Chief of State considered that the reinstatement of Admiral Nadia could be seen also as a political gesture that, although we are at peace with the Remnant, that this peace must be based on mutual respect for its terms?
