"I pity you, child. You will never truly know what it is like to experience your first kiss, or the love of a true woman... and yet... and yet you will be spared the indignities of life: old age, the loss of sight and hearing. Yes... yes, this is for the best. Run along now."

Treylon Voss straightened, letting the confused-looking child whose face he had been cupping scamper off into the crowd of people boarding the shuttle for Naboo. He couldn't have been more than four standard years. A beautiful child, Voss mused, who might one day have grown up to be something spectacular. Instead, he would pass on into small and lost memories, rather than making something grand, he would be the herald of something grand. Grand are terrible. The loss of life was tragic in an odd way. Yet, it was a necessary evil. Shaking his head slightly as he returned to the Nevermore, Voss scanned over the public transcripts of the Senate.

"Oh my," he murmured with a smile. Things were certainly heating up. Dantooine was in the grip of a plague. The New Republic was likely to fix the place up without too many deaths. The strike against Druckenwell had gone off splendidly as well. Voss now had a goodly sum of money waiting in healing equipment and bacta. The next move, of course, was Naboo. The child wouldn't become sick on the flight, no, Voss had instructed the Direllian plague to remain dormant for several days. No, Naboo would make its own demonstration to the galaxy. The best part, the part that tickled Voss quite pink, was the fact that it would take so few deaths to truly accomplish his aims. Isard had sought to keep the New Republic focused at Coruscant with her Krytos virus. It was foolish. Instead of focusing them on one spot, Voss planned to spread out the might of the New Republic. If they were tied up everywhere at once, they could hardly respond to everything.

Leaning back and beginning his firing sequence, Voss smiled behind his mask. A new war was underway. A war from the shadows.

"So the items have been offloaded and sold?"

Klapp's image nodded its head shortly. "Three different planets boss, scattered throughout the Outer Rim. We disabled all transponders we could find, but there's always a chance one or two slipped through."

"Good, good. You've done well. Now, take the credits and transmit them to the following account."

Voss rattled off several numbers, waiting for Klapp to comprehend them. As the pirate did so, he frowned slightly. "That's a lot of money to one place. You sure you can keep paying us, old man?"

"Don't question the methods. You'll be paid as long as you stay quiet and get results."

Voss killed the communication, sighing again. Pirates. Ah, well. Within an hour or so, the credits would be transferred to Jamie the Hutt's private accounts. It was a simple matter to find them. His family fortune was hardly a non-public manner. If indeed the New Republic Intelligence was watching as they should be, the credits might well set them off on the Hutt.

---

So by now, the shuttle should have landed at Naboo, and the viral outbreak should well have begun. It would be quarantined easily enough with some rapid bacta treatments and the like. Now came the tricky phase of the plan, the portion where Voss would speak to the highest authority in the New Republic. This was the beginning of the crucial phase of the plan. So, on to the show then, as Voss considered it.
