Having taken the Coordinates for Ahlenn from the main navicomp of the Morgan-class vessel Gemmell determined to send a force to see what PDS had in its arsenal. An Imperial-1 Star Destroyer descended from Hyperspace in the Ahlenn system, close in to the world, powering up its turbolasers and targeting the world for any concentrations of sentient life.

A communication went down to the world, from the venerable Captain Igor Krupnik, "Gentlemen of Patriot Defense systems, I am Captain Krupnik of His Imperial Majesty's Ship "Divine Right" unfortunately, I require your immediate surrender or I will in fact be forced to slaughter every man, woman and child on your world, and reduce it to a world of melted glass and ash, unifit to nurture life for a thousand lifetimes"

Krupnik was not a man to tiptoe around the porridge.

Dustil's brother, Captain Zack Sushere, was in charge of the PDS until Dustil return from the attack. However, he hadn't returned and his supposed return was overdue by a few days. Zack felt that there was something wrong that went with the attack. His sense of urgency have proven right, as a radar officer had informed him that an Imperial-1 Star Destroyed have dropped out of hyperspace above the orbit of the planet.

Immediately, he knew just what to do. He had ordered every person in the base to just get on the transports in the hangar bay of the base, not having any time to collect their belongings. Zack had summoned the only squadron of the base to protect the evacuation at all cost. There were eight guardian starfighters that would be revving the engines up right away and waited for the transports to get ready.

Then, Zack decided not to respond to Captain Krupnik's message. Instead, he would send a message on general frequency, stretching it all the way to nearby system where Bespin resides. Zack knew it was a long shot, but he had to try.

"This is Zack Sushere, captain of PDS, we request assistance. The Imperials are attacking us right now, and we need your help. We are in the nearby system of Ahlenn. Please send help."

He would then turn off the radio transmitter and then moved on to rush toward the hangar bay where he would be getting in his personal YT-1300 light freighter, along with him were four men needed for co-pilot, and gunners. He, along with the guardians, would take off first before the transports. They decided to fly within the atmosphere to the other side of the planet.

Meanwhile, the five turbolasers from the base would be firing toward the star destroyer. The PDS' intentions were to survive and not bow down to the Imperials. The evacuation has now begun...

Sending out a "general transmission" had been something of a miscalculation on Sushere's part, though it was a mistake that would soon diminish in comparison to the Moff Council's apparent decision to intrude upon Pentastar Alignment space. Two slender, gunmetal Enforcer-class picket cruisers emerged from hyperspace high above the planet Ahlenn (their respective bows facing directly toward the planet), with the cruiser Marathon in the lead and its counterpart several clicks distant, like two vultures hovering over the field of battle.

The Enforcer-class (a little known, but formidable Imperial cruiser) was the workhorse of the Pentastar Alignment, and standard operating procedure most frequently deployed them in pairs. It was such that these two vessels had been on patrol very near Ahlenn when Gemmell's Star Destroyer arrived, no doubt traversing Alignment territory in the process. Sushere's transmission was enough to confirm their suspicions, and the two ships presently arrived with their weapons primed and shields up (and directed forward), as they faced the Divine Right below, and the "PDS" base beneath it.

Captain Heller (who was also not the sort to "tiptoe around the porridge") stood on the bridge of the Marathon. The Pentastar Alignment was very much a microcosm of the "old Empire," in that its officers were men of refinement and its fleet was steeped in decades of naval tradition and aristocracy, even though the faction had suffered greatly in the months since the death of its former leader, Ardus Kaine. But Heller was a man who, like many in the Alignment, viewed the Moff Council as boorish, uncouth and uncompromising. He stood for a moment contemplating whether to give warning before opening fire.

He glanced about the bridge crew, collectively. "Seems our colleagues at the Moff Council are having a jolly little soiree into our humble Alignment," he announced. "Such poor manners. What say we slap them on the wrist, hmm? Forward batteries, fire across the stern of the Divine Right, and don't worry about hitting any insects on the surface of the planet. Accidents do happen, of course. Communications? Ask that Star Destroyer kindly to leave this place, or we shall be compelled to destroy them with no small amount of satisfaction."

Once the Divine Right was out of the way, Heller decided, they would finish off this nest of so called "Patriots" that the Moff Council had apparently stumbled upon. Sushere might have been clever in staying within the atmosphere, but while Divine Right would be unable to follow them, the Marathon and her sister ship (at only 600 meters each) could. But for now, they remained focused on their more immediate adversaries, as the Marathon's turbolaser blasts passed near enough the Divine Right to singe its shields. Heller instructed his gunners to acquire targeting solutions, and to prepare his two vessels for evasive action in the event of ion cannon fire, but otherwise awaited the response.

The Divine Right began to bear away, giving an affirmative good hunting signal to the ships under Heller, entering a gravatic slingshot around the planet, seemingly to catapult it off into deep space to allow it to escape the planets gravity well and enter hyperspace.

The forward shields were little sctatched by the 5 turbolasers from the planet, the Divine Right evened out its shield harmonics to assure a good all over covering as it began to bear away.

(I wrote a really long nice post but accidentally deleted it, sorry but this essentially tells you everything in it.)

The squadron, along with Zack's personal freighter, were protecting the transports. There were three to be specified. They were scrambling to the other side of the planet in full speed. The PDS knew that they'd have a chance of escaping from either faction, as the radar had detected two more warships to emerge out of hyperspace. As heard over the transmission, it was the Pentastar Alignment, a rival Imperial faction of the Moffs. He was grateful that this would delay their concentration on trying to capture the personnel of the PDS. However, he cannot take a chance of lingering around as he knew whoever is the victor of the battle would attempt to capture them.

The fighters along with three transports were almost to the other side of the planet. He would speak on the secure channel to the squadron and the transport, "Better have the coordinates ready when we blast out of the atmosphere. Set the coordinates to Mowgle, and enter into hyperspace on my mark." Zack would order everyone that's evacuating."

He figured out that if he got himself and the PDS into the Republic space, they'd be safe for time being. At least until they find a new place to settle in.

"Well that's civil of them," said the surprised voice of Heller's colleague, the Captain of the Barbarossa, over comlink. He was an older man and a compulsive worrier, but in this case it was Heller who was apprehensive. "Perhaps too civil," Heller answered as he watched skeptically the Divine Right bear away. "The Moff Council has shown itself to be many things," he continued, "but civil isn't one of them. Barbarossa? What say you handle this hive on the planet, while I follow our Imperial friends and make certain they find the door?"

The Barbarossa signalled an affirmative, while Marathon too beared away from the surface and cruised gracefully along Ahlenn's gravity well, duplicating the Divine Right's maneuvers (the Marathon, afterall, being far more nimble in this respect), and following the Star Destroyer safely outside of its firing range. Probably a waste of time, Heller realized, but if so at least he'd still be in a position to intercept those fleeing "Patriots" on the opposite side of the planet.

Meanwhile, the Barbarossa moved into a closer, synchronized orbit over the PDS base on the surface and, without warning, began bombardment in earnest. It was, in fact, the second time that the Pentastar Alignment had assaulted this very location, but hopefully this time it would be the last. Sushere's turbolasers (and their unfortunate gunners) would have little effect on the Barbarossa's shields, as her turbolaser fire blasted through durasteel, vaporized concrete and sent searing hot, pulverized earth and debris into the sky. Buildings were destroyed, tunnels were collapsed, men were killed. It was unlikely that the PDS's modest base could survive this sort of punishment.

And little did Sushere and his survivors know that when they exited the atmosphere and calculated their hyperspace jump, the Marathon would be waiting.

The IMS Divine Right completed its gravatic slingshot, exiting into deep space and setting a course for some random uncharted system.

(calling the 4 day rule on this)

The Marathon continued its course around the planet's gravitic curve, veering away from the Divine Right and slowing its mammoth sublight engines as it came upon the fleeing PDS ships, vulnerable in the cruiser's sights as they ascended from Ahlenn's atmosphere and went about calculating their hyperspace jumps. Heller wasted no time, and no fire as the Marathon opened up on the nearest of the transports. The Imperials were, in fairness, firing from a significant range upon comparably smaller vessels, but even so, it was almost certain that one of the transports would be destroyed and at least one other severely damaged as their shields already buckled under the punishment of the Marathon's turbolasers.

And meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, the remains of the PDS base would fare much worse. The Barbarossa would continue to fire upon the installation for 90 arduous minutes, long after the "Patriot"s own turbolasers had been destroyed (along with the rest of the compound's infrastructure, hangars, and tunnels). When it was finished, there was no talk of survivors; if anyone had withstood the bombardment on Ahlenn, they would now starve on Ahlenn, alone in the smoldering ruins below.

As they were calculating their jump to Mowgle, just blasted out of atmosphere and into the dark, full of stars, space. There was an Enforcer-class waiting for them. Only this time, it wasn't the Council of Moffs. It was the another Imperial faction that came to stop the rival faction from lurking inside their space. The Enforcer began firing right away as soon as they got into the range. The guardians and Zack's personal freighter were able to dodge multiple laser bolts with little difficulty.

However, the transports didn't have such luck. The first transport was immediately destroyed, as their shields did them little good since they were the first one to emerge out of the atmosphere of Ahlenn. Zack could hear the screams of the crewmembers aboard that transports just before it exploded. The second transport suffered considerable damage, and Zack looked back. All of sudden, that transport was heading directly toward the Enforcer.

The commander of the second transport knew they wouldn't make it, so he decided to order the crewmembers to reroute all the power to both boost their speed and shield. The commander simply said on the radiotransmitter to Zack and the rest of the PDS, "Stay alive to fight another day." Zack would sigh in mourn, knowing what's going to happen next. The transport was heading directly toward the Enforcer's hangar bay, committing suicide to buy time for the guardians, Zack's personal freighter, and third transport to escape.

It was when the Imperials have to decide whether to shoot on the ones fleeing or the transport coming to ram into the ship. The transport were going at the speed that it could dangerously cripple the Enforcer. If not crippling, then it would be likely that the warship would suffer a lot of damage, considering it's going toward the hangar bay.

Then the survivors of the PDS entered into hyperspace as the last thing Zack sees was his good friends sacrificing their lives so they can live for another day...

"They're veering toward us," Heller mused to himself, watching the damaged transport in the distance come about and promptly accelerate toward the Marathon, leaving in its wake a cloud of vapor as oxygen slowly leaked from the vessel. While the Marathon itself did not have a hangar bay, a direct impact to the hull would still be problematic. But thankfully, Heller's ship was both smaller, faster and more maneuverable than a Star Destroyer, and would have no particular difficulty avoiding a collision.

"Evasive maneuvers," Heller announced calmly, as the Marathon began to pitch gracefully up and to starboard and out of harm's way. But Heller would not be satisfied: "Come about twelve degrees and bring our ion cannons to bear," he ordered, and within moments the Marathon's bridge glowed blue as the cruiser's ion cannons lanced out at the approaching transport with a vengeance. Even with its shields at full, the ship would find itself quickly without power, its navigation, life support and engines failing, and the lights within going black as the ship veered helplessly off course and began to descend back into Ahlenn's atmosphere.

"We have targeting solutions, Captain," said one of the bridge crew. "Shall we finish them off?"

"No," Heller said decisively. "They are combatants, Rebels. They knew what they were in for. Leave them to disintegrate in the atmosphere; it serves them right." The Marathon would veer away, returning to the Barbarossa as the sole PDS transport plummeted harrowingly back down to the planet and eventually burned up into nothing more than particulate debris. The Imperial ships would depart Ahlenn roughly one hour later, satisfied that the planet was pacified and that the news of the PDS defeat would soon be on every holoset in the Pentastar Alignment.

Both the Marathon and Barbarossa left behind a series of sensor buoys, then disappeared into hyperspace.
