To His Excellency the Chief of State Gavrisom

Summit going fine despite initial hitch. In talks as I send this message. Imperial representative Fiske in opposition to reciprocal dismantling. Our forces bigger than theirs. Afraid of dismantling the entirety of their forces. What do you suggest?

Fast response would be appreciated.

The transmission was monitored by the Star Destroyer Marathon, which was positioned conveniently near Morishim (the planet was surrounded by Remnant space, after all). This message, and the Chief of State's reply, would be secretly forwarded to the Imperial delegation on the planet. Depending on the amount of encryption, however, it could potentially take some time to decode.

Mr Ryner,

We are not attempting to completely dismantle the New Republic or Imperial Starfleet fully, we both need to be able to maintain a strategic defence. My prime interest is seeing their fleet does not grow, and neither does ours.

If the Imperial Starfleet would be willing to make concessions pertaining to their smaller capital ships, that would be satisfactory to us. An agreement setting the number of large (Mon Calamari Cruisers and Imperial varient Star Destroyers) at current numbers and reducing smaller ships would seem satisfactory.

Ponc Gavrisom
Chief of State
