Motion Concerning the Committee on Monument Preservation and Promotion

Fairly simple, I motion that the Committee on Monument Preservation and Promotion be re-named the Historical Sites Council. I also request relocation of our meeting room to Meeting Room A30000291, to facilitate a more effective and productive enviroment, also with its own unique and historical standing, in which we make work to preserve and promote the historical sites of the New Republic, and the galaxy.

The Senator will of course be aware that monuments and historical sites are two entirely different things and, also, there are already several committees that preside over historical sites. If this motion is intended to expand the purview of the Committee on Monument Preservation and Promotion to include historical sites, then I must vote against; your committee seems to be having enough difficulty as it is without adding even more responsibilities to its agenda.

I must say I am rather disappointed with Senator Forte's recent poor performance at the head of his council. As such I must vote against the expansion of the powers of his council, and the transfer of its room number (which should not be a matter for legislation, but rather an official application to the Department of Facilities).

Senator Forte,

This motion fails, and I believe my criticism stands, before we can even discuss an expansion of your mandate we need an expansion of your efficiency running the Monuments Committee.

As for re-allocation of the room, this should have been done through internal procedures but I am informed that the room designated W/C (Herm) might be made available for your use should you require it, it is listed as being broken down into "open plan cubicles" and this might prove effective for your committee to be able to re-locate their offices as well as meeting on this floor.
