| I propose, quite simply, that it shall be considered a federal offense to obstruct access to the holonet for all but emergency, civil, or military purposes (for example, the use of the holonet for emergency broadcasts would remain permissable). The vandalism and/or destruction of holonet transmitters and similar equipment would also be considered a federal crime. In addition to the use of the holonet for communications purposes, it is also used for commercial transactions—since it is the responsibility of the New Republic to regulate interstellar commerce, impeding the holonet should be a crime prosecuted in federal courts. I vote in favor.

| I vote in favour of my Honoured colleague Reuke Cambrist's motion. This is a sensible motion establishing jurisdiction clearly for the crime of damaging interstellar commerce and communications.
