He had recently seen notices of the legislation that Kalevala had in effect, outlawed all weapons that weren't being held by its security forces on the planet.

It was laughable.

An inane attempt, by what was starting to seem like an inane legislative body to control something they couldn't.

I am the weapon.
He thought. It was a part of him that came out when approached with what he felt was sheer stupidity - or worse, and concurrent with this episode - cowardice. Here he was, on a sacred quest, a duty and obligation that governed his entire life, that had manhandled his ancestors since the beginning of time - and Kalevala said he couldn't carry his personal belongings, his weapon? It was almost as bad as Eriadu 'encouraging' Force sensitives to avoid the world.

But he wasn't on Kalevala to cause trouble for the woman now haunting his thoughts.

He would be in line to apply for a license to carry a weapon.

---------------------------------------------
After spending some time in the government office, reading pamphlets and paying attention to the usual process he saw underway as New Mandalorian's went about obtaining licenses to carry weapons, most of them were government employees he noted, or else had a job such as 'hunter' or something congruent with that ostentatious need for approved weaponry. So why was he sitting there in this office, about to play this game. He needed to examine his motives some, and again revisit why he was on Kalevala. He had received notice from Mical de Crion's office that he was accepted to come work as an intern for the Senator, and from the public broadcasts of the Senate proceedings, he knew that Mr. Crion was not a friend to the Duchess Valeria Orchades of Kalevala - and now he was to be the man's student in the political arena. But that still put him here on Kalevala, with no discernable progress made towards contacting the Duchess and establishing some sort of mutually beneficial relationship with the woman. He needed an army - a force available to him for his purposes, be it a pirate faction, the Empire, the Republic..or Mandalorian, time was of the essence and he needed some sort of progress on that end.

Alone, he fully believed himself to be the victorious party against any other being in the galaxy - though he was eager to test his skills against notable figures such as Luke Skywalker and other galaxy renowned Jedi Knights, after all - they purported themselves as the experts on the Force. But this was not a war that would be won through the efforts of a single man, unless of course that man proved to be enough of a catalyst to the rest of the galaxy that he was able to goad them into some sort of unity that would allow them to act as one decisive entity against the horrors that the Nintra family had so long prepared against. While he personally found some of the Emperor's means distasteful, one had to have respect for the entity he had created. The Empire of even 30 years ago would have proven a quite satisfactory entity with which to take control and prepare for galactic defense, but alas it was not to be. The will of the Force is often hard to see, much less follow in perfection. He knew this. So perhaps he had reached an impasse, sitting in a Kalevala den of forms and red tape he realized that this was unnescesary. To be found in violation of the law, one had to display their weapon or use it - or be searched for some reason. None of these would apply to him. He got up and with a chuckle and a shake of his head, he left the Weapon License Office. He was wearing his customary black suit, his personal blaster pistol was in an armpit holster hidden underneath his suit jacket on the left side, and wasn't obvious to casual, and even perhaps interested observation and his lightsaber was safely hidden within a compartment on Toad back at the spaceport with their Y Wing, so he had little doubt that he would be able to traverse quite comfortably across the Kalevalan capital towards the palace where all his tourist information informed him that the Duchess would most likely be found.

He found the idea of a pacifist society intriquing, if a bit suicidal. Of course, there was the Kalevalan Defense Force, but it still struck him as odd that in a sector that was as much a hot bed for violence as this one was, that this society had apparently flourished for as long as it had. Assuming that he didn't come across some kind of check point where people were routinely frisked for contraband, and considering that the planet wasn't under martial law of some sort - this was unlikely, he'd soon come as close as possible as the general public was allowed to the palace grounds. He found the palace to be a beautiful enough sight, and found the architecture to be similar to Naboo's. Perhaps it had something to do with pacifist society, it influenced their art. He stood there, arms folded across his chest for several long minutes, just observing, moving casually enough about to not be seen just staring at the facility for too long from any one point of view. He imagined that access to the Duchess was restricted, and so he would have to of course get creative. He pulled one of the palace tour guides aside and asked him a short question, before thanking the man and continuing in the direction that the man had sent him.

It was a government employment office. He would spend several minutes on the comm back and forth with Toad, compiling over their uplink a resume that he would then submit to that office along with making another copy and saving it to his comm unit, that he would use soon enough as part of his next operation.

Personal Statement
I am currently employed as the Head Bodyguard to the Tapani Noble House Calipsa, under my watch the family has endured several attacks on members of the family but has endured 0 casualties with only minor injuries, usually the result of blast attacks (explosions, vehicle bombs, etc). Mr. Juark Calipsa, the head of the house, will personally vouch for my outstanding integrity and loyalty in serving his family. I am currently on a leave of absence from my service to that family, due to the requirements of the industry to keep from becoming complacent in routines that have worked in the past. Complacency kills, after all. I feel that my service to the Duchess is nescessary, given the current political climate, and I have developed an exemplary record with excellent references an am eager to submit to whatever tests your office may find nescessary to hire me. I have also enclosed a personal statement to be delivered to the Duchess herself, if at all possible. The message is encoded and will erase if the incorrect password is entered.

Upon reading the application information, when finished and scrolled down a pop up would appear with the following script

For the Duchess only, please input correct password
Hint

Letter to the Duchess

Your Highness,

Tarodal Navlon is an alias. I cannot at this this time reveal to you my true name, but I can offer you something that I believe you seek. I have recently been accepted to work for Senator Mical de Crion of the Tapani Sector, in the New Republic Senate. Following the public broadcasts of the Senate, it is my understanding that man has a somewhat narrow and heavy handed view of things. I can remedy this. I'm not offering an assassination or anything of the like, but I have every confidence that I can influence the man and through him others. If you peruse my application, I am a quite capable bodyguard and would be honored to serve you in the capacity, but I can also serve you as agent once I am inserted within the Senate.

My intent is simple, Duchess. I am the heir to a line that has protected the galaxy from an extra galactal force that threatens the very existence of our galaxy, since the days of the progenitor of my family. Soon the time for preparing will be over, and so I must move in earnest and be decisive. There needs to be a focus in our galaxy, someone - some idea that remains untarnished by all that war has wrought across our worlds. You are to be that focus, and so I must protect you - and you must know of your higher duty, so that you keep yourself pure and whole. You are needed my lady.

- T

The feel of the world reminded him of his Father. He had had that effect on people, labile and quick to anger coupled with awe inspiring power, his father was - is, a force to be reckoned with. Of course, that he was on this mission rather than his father spoke volumes about the son as well. Fear. It was almost palpable to the touch and it took him back to memories of more grisly lessons in the Force. His father taught that if one was going to use anger as a tool, as a means to unlocking the deepest and truest parts of yourself, to fully actualize your Force potential, it had to be part of your being, central to yourself, to your bearing. You did not think angry thoughts, but rather became the living epitome of those thoughts, you became your anger. Perhaps it was this tenet that had decided the son's alignment in regards to the Force. He could of course resort to the necessary means, but it wasn't done in anger.

For instance, he didn't hate the man now known as Herak, when he cut him down like swine in the under levels of Coruscant.

Herak had been weak. Was still weak, but perhaps through that lesson in humility, and with his new objective, would be given a new opportunity to succeed or fail. It had been a harsh lesson, but a needed one. Hopefully a successful one.

But the world reminded him of Fear. Was doused in it, like a home before arson. He hoped that his message would be passed along to the Duchess like he had requested, and hoped that his feeling that she would be able to interpret the clue he had given her and be able to see the message that he had wanted to share with her. It was a test of sorts. The Force had led him to Kalevala, had guided him in his thoughts towards the Duchess, and now would his faith in his promptings be vindicated, or did the Force have another person in mind as the focal point?

So he returned to his Y Wing, and he and Toad left Kalevala, enroute for Coruscant.
