The Delegation from Dantooine, bearing in mind the right of all warrior beings to carry arms. And bearing in mind that it is a breach of fundemental rights and justice to upbraid this right. The Government of Dantooine files this motion to withdraw the recent motion instituting unjust and unconstitutional arms control on Coruscant. I am a warrior, one of a proud culture who has nobly fought many battles, I am appauled that the Governments of the Galaxy feels it has the right to institute arms control on Coruscant.

If I want to carry my Vibro-Pike-Blaster in the streets of Coruscant, I as a proud, free, sentient being, a warrior furthermore, should be allowed to carry it. Furthermore, I would like to propose that a law is passed forbiding any further arms control being instituted, and especially on any individual planet in the New Republic.

Once again, I also call for the Chief of State to form a committee, with myself at the head, in order to draft proposals on the frankly essential modifications made to the unpaid labour laws.

Senator Tiure, I believe your efforts on this matter would find greater success in the courts.

I hesitate, always, to agree with Senator Crion, but in this instance I have no choice in the matter. The permissability of the Coruscant arms control bill might well be in doubt, but certainly we should not and, indeed, we cannot "[forbid] any further arms control being instituted... on any individual planet in the New Republic" as Senator Tiure is apparently proposing. Surely, planets should have the right to make their own, reasonable limitations on armaments under certain circumstances, in certain places and venues, etc. I agree, however, that the New Republic Senate should not do this, but that remains to be determined in the courts.

I vote against the measure.

Although I must confess, a part of me is disappointed that I may never be entertained by whatever it is that Senator Tiure considers to be "essential modifications... to the unpaid labor laws." Alas, so be it.

Standing as Senator Cambrist has submitted a vote, I must, in the end, submit mine as well, as this discussion and legisltation, has moved nowhere. I vote Against this measure, and call upon the Chair to close the vote.

I must admit that it's not often that I agree with Senator Cambrist on this matter. I'm just go ahead and agree with both Senators Cambrist and de Crion, therefore I vote against the proposal. Senator Tiure, I suggest you file this kind of proposals to the New Republic Courts for future references. I believe the Senate's time might be better spent on something else.
