| This was brought up to me by a fellow member, who got me really excited with the idea. The Norat Sovereignty is unheard of, save for a brief mention in one of the Star Wars books. This allows me the unique ability to morph and develop a cannon group without stepping on the toes of cannon specifically. As a starter, I would request five planets to be within the sovereignty with another four being so close to the Norat sphere of influence that they are protectorates, falling under the protection of the Sovereignty while maintaining a sense of autonomy. Furthermore, an additional four planets would be in alliance with the Norat Soveregnty, all of which offer trading rights and mutual defense rights between them. The extent of the Norat growth (at least initially) will consist of the acquisition of these 13 planets. I do not intend on expanding past these 13 planets, but who knows where a plot would take me right? Norat Sovereignty: Norat Prime Nanta-Ri Dandalas Kol Huro I Pirol V Planets Under Protectorate (Not Conquered): Widek Ord Vaxal Kidiet Olgo Kadavo Allied Planets (Not Conquered): Flitter Ventooine Fengrine Ord Torrenze I have compiled an extensive list of the culture and workings of the Norati people. Of the planets listed above, Norat Prime is the only made up planet, and this is because I couldn't find an idea planet to settle as the capital. The Norat Sovereignty is built along an extensive aristocratic system--or parody--where the Lord Imperator Dictate (yours truly) rules over the people. The second in command is referred to as the Baron Executor. The legislative branch consists of the Lords Council and the Peoples Council. The Lords Council is made up of 1,346 noble Lords and Barons who represent the will of the rich. An additional 4,000 seats are given over to the plebians who elect representatives for their districts that then advocate the rights of each district. The way of government is simplistic at best. The Peoples Council gives their wishes to the Lords who pass judgement. The Lords give their pleas to the Executor to pass judgement. The Executor updates the Imperator on the important issues, or the Imperator may intercede at any moment and pass judgement. Failure to reach an understanding results in this judgement being passed down. The Imperator has a secret police (referred to as the Lords Eyes) who make sure that the Executor, the Lords, the Peoples, the Generals, and all other members of society, do not attempt to usurp power from him. The military is broken into three sections: The Royal Guard, The Royal Army, and the Gladiators. The Royal Guard is in charge of the main world of Norat Prime, they are a type of 'stormtrooper' sent into the thick of battle to accomplish strict objectives. The Royal Army are garrisoned on each planet. They do not help the local police force, but regularly train for combat, these are the most common units deployed in battle. The Gladiators are a last ditch offensive (or sometimes a joke) that the aristocracy places into combat. With the allure of freedom these men and women are tossed unto planets and given unthinkable tasks to accomplish. Doing so is rewarded with the thorned crown, which the recipient wears for one week and enjoys complete freedom. After the one week the individual is placed into Honourary Detainment wherin they become a temporary Tar'Mael (slave) and serve a sentence of one year and one day before becoming a citizen and free.
Added (12 Mar 2009, 2:49 Pm) --------------------------------------------- Slavery: Is predominant in the Norat Sovereignty, as the aristocrats require slaves to do labour. The slaves are referred to as Tar'Maeli (plural) or Tar'Mael (singular) and are slaves that are protected by law as property. A individual is allowed to harm and assault his slave, but no death or permanent damage is allowed. Should a master violate this treaty, the slave goes up for auction and can be bought by other masters (the slave does not go gree until he/she has served her five years and a day slaver). After Five years and a day, the slave becomes a citizen. Slaves done an all white attire, and are required to clean it every night so that on the morning, the gown is spotless. They are forbidden to take up arms, and are required to obey their masters. Slaves are implanted with a tracking device to verify to whom they belong. Disgraced slaves are referred to as Tal'Mahael (disgraced slaves). The term for a Tal'Mahael or Tal'Mahaeli is for life. They have done something (such as taking up arms, or refusing to be a Tar'Mael) that is deemed dishonourable and therefore, become slaves for life. The majority of these people are slaves imported from the allied planets that do not understand the way of the Norati. Nonetheless, they are implanted with a special chip that is set to explode should they leave the planet to which they jurisdiction is set. The chip has no failsafe and no shut down and is set to explode eventually. Killing or maiming of Tal'Mahaeli is still prohibitted, at which point they become the property of the crown. Military service is required from the ages of 17-26. Should an individual choose not to join the military, they can become a Tar'Mael for a double duration, thereby exempting them from military service. Each microchip states the time of activation and deactivation, so no one can cheat the system. The last item is the escape clause. Because the planets are so vast and populated, the Norat Sovereignty makes use of Advisors, which are Lords selected by the Imperator himself to make choices on his behalf. They listen to the proceedings and make the call as they see fit, then reporting to him. Each Advisor constantly vies for power over the others, and thus, the Imperator finds out everything. The Executor is not allowed Advisors and more often than not his own movement is brought to the attention of the Imperator by the Advisors. The Escape Clause is a Clause that was initiated by Laurent de Sancartier. Put simply, he could choose to celebrate the Wookie Life Day at anytime, as many times, throughout the year. When such an event occurs, the Advisors take over in his stead, acting on his behalf as listed above. That's about it for the Norat Sovereignty. However, I would like to request the follow naval defensive forces. 1 x Nebulon-B Frigate 2 x Tartan Patrol Cruisers 2 x Broadside-class Corvette Added (12 Mar 2009, 2:53 Pm) --------------------------------------------- I also wrote this in haste, I apologize for the typos. It's about an hour before class. Added (14 Mar 2009, 11:38 Am) --------------------------------------------- Not to be a burden, but could I get a reply on this request?

| Having taken the time (perhaps too much time, for which I apologize) to review this request, I'm prepared to vote to APPROVE it in its entirety, with the caveat that the allied and protectorate planets not be specified at this time, and rather substitute them in your description with something to the effect of "various allied worlds." Essentially, I don't want to give the illusion of the Norat Sovereignty as being larger than it is at this point, although I understand that your reasons for listing those planets was only academic. Also, good job on researching those planets. They're all exquisitely vague; perfect for this purpose. So A+ on your homework. However I'll be the first to say (because I have a feeling that Jory will as well) that Norat Prime, as a noncanon world, should have a detailed history, statistics, location, etc. before it's introduced into the RP. | Lol, no problem. I sent you the rough template with the history and cultural movement of the Norat when I was writing it on day one. At that time it was two pages long, let's just say that I haven't stopped adding to it :P Added (18 Mar 2009, 11:16 Am) --------------------------------------------- I do not wish to press management in the least, but it has been more than four days since I originally posted the request, and has been four days since my latest reply; if management could kindly come to a decision, or reach me on MSN to discuss any points that they find of a concern, I would greatly appreciate it. If there is no other qualms with the request, then if I could get a final stamp of approval.
