I would like to request the Neimoidian Government Arms Corporation be able to produce the following device. It is to be named the Neimoidian Electronic Counter Measure Suite (NECMS), this suite is using technology devised by the droid brains of the Kruus-class Battleship and has the effect of causing sensors to not be able to lock on to ships with NECMS, as the countermeasure system produces duplicate readings of the vessel in all targeting bands. The effect of this is that vessels targeting a ship with NECMS are not able to gain a target lock, and so are not able to fire upon such a vessel with any degree of accuracy.
A NECMS suite is going to hit the market at approximately 5,000 NR Credits and can easily be fitted to standard ECM emitters present on all warships, simply requiring a droid brain or crew to operate.
Unfortunately the design of the NECMS suite is fairly simple, and thus very vunerable to industrial saboutage (as its publically availible) meaning that the Remnant and Independants can aqquire this defense almost as easily as NR Citizens.
Luckily though NECMS is fairly easily compensated for, and all Sensor manufacturers would come up with a computer patch to jam NECMs, this would work on any operating system that uses compatible computers, the following ships are not upgradable to this system without a complete computer overhaul, the cost of which would run into being more expensive than simply replacing the vessel with a modern equivalent, and would take over one year to have done (real time).

This will mean that modern ships, running on modern computers will have no problems, but the much older ships will become obselete and so cease to be useful and fade into the background. Essentially this is a suggestion to prevent the extensive use of prequel ships in the RP, and meaning that use of them will involve a very heavy pricetag. This will also prevent frankly overpowered prequel ships showing up too much and being a match for ships 30-50 years their junior.
