Coming from a family with a long line of army service, as far back as the Unification Wars, he served within the ceremonial Republic Army after attending the Carida Academy. By the time of the actual outbreak of the Clone Wars, he was a Sergeant, although bucked down to Private after the formation of the GAR. He went on to achieve the rank of Captain, leading a team of ARC Troopers, becoming an ARC Trooper himself...and proudly participating in Order 66. After the formation of the Empire, he led the efforts to supress dissent and enforce Order 66. Afterwards however, he returned to civilian life...acting as a security consultant on Coruscant for the Imperial City government. When the decision was made to bring in non-clones to the ranks of the Stormtrooper Corps, he was requested of his service as a Sergeant, and served a tour of duty...following which he became a Drill Instructor for the Corps.
Time and again, he was asked to alternate tours of duty, one as a DI, another in field service... even serving in the Strategic Insertion Battalion in 2 BBY. One of his field tours was at Ralltiir, being assigned to the 21st Stormtrooper Legion aboard the Interdictor Star Destroyer Knightfall. Aside from various purification duties, primarily serving as part of the personnel running the death camps, he was scouting out a suspected enemy position in the small town of Ettam. He found however the place was the location of a large hospital. He felt no mercy at this, and reported in that the area was confirmed as a munitions depot, out of mere spite of the Rebels, knowing they would be hurt by the act. He watched from a distance as TIE Bombers relentlessly bombed the town, with the event later being known as the Ettam Massacre. He was as notable as his commanding officer as the time, Commander Akobi, in the incident, and was given a medal for the act. After Yavin, he became a full time field Stormtrooper, becoming a Lieutenant...serving as a General, and part of Stormtrooper Command, by the time of Endor...and remaining as a part of such afterwards, one of the few constants at the time, and after the end of Isard's rule joined several officers in the Deep Core, serving under the Reborn Emperor. After Palpatine was finally defeated, he fled to the Outer Rim, linking up with several officers whom had served in the Reborn Emperor's campaign, and joining the Moff Council. When the need became apparant for compotent planetary governors, he volunteered for assignment as a Governor to Kalee. Although with a small garrison, he is known for strictly enforcing high standards among his personnel, a tradition he continued as he took over the entire Sector.
In 11 ABY, the Kaleesh rebelled, led by Qymendru dap Benjiar and supported by the New Republic. He used brutality and several ideas of the Tarkin Doctorine, including a few new ones of his own, in dealing with the Rebellion, such as villages known to have helped, housed, given to, supported, or had members of the resistence from, were burned to the ground, with every living things within them being killed, usually through extremely painful torture or mutilation of the quickly killed, and the bodies being put on display. He would also pressure Kaleesh into helping his cause, such as forcing a group to pretend to be refugees from one of the destroyed villages enter another village during day and gaining their trust, and at night taking down the defenses and barriers so Imperial Commandos could kill everyone in their sleep. When encountering the resistence itself, they were given no quarter; should a prisoner be taken they were tortured for informaiton until death. Through utter decimation of will, fighting spirit, numbers, and support, he brought an end to the rebellion. The remains of the resistence surrendered after being given the oppotunity following months of continuous battle with his forces. They were then taken to his headquarters, where they were publically executed in various ways and then put on display.
For the successful put down of the Kaleesh Rebellion, he was granted the title of Moff and given a seat on the Moff Council. He was also given the Interdictor Star Destroyer Knightfall as a gift to be used as his personal flagship, which he found ironic. The ship that essentially started his reputation and career as a ruthless executioner of the Empire's enemies was now being rewarded to him. He wasted no time and brought order and the heavy handed fist of the Empire down upon Spar Sector, quickly eliminating piracy and smuggling. For doing so, and maintaining it, he was eventually granted the rank of Grand Moff, and continues to serve in his position as sector governor and Moff Council member.
