Born and raised on Vjun, Oriel was brought up to privellage, being the son of two planetary rulers he was always spoiled, and the finest educators from across the galaxy were summoned to teach young Paul. He showed a great deal of ability with the force, and at age 10 was able to use telekinesis to levitate small objects with little training. His force ability becoming latent at this age he was transfered to Garos for testing by the Jedi.
At this age disaster struck the young man, with his father being lost in action and his mother decrying his name, he showed incredible frustration with his circumstances and inability to help, and so keenly left home and joined the Jedi Order. While a boisterous youth his talent was obvious, and while he did not always apply himself, his oral knowledge and raw ability made it clear he could do better than simply passing the tests given to him with the minimum possible effort.
When the Disciples of Ragnos struck in 14aby he was a mere youth of 13 in the training of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, still he was called upon to serve when the whole Jedi Order was deployed to Korriban to fight the Sith Disciples. Paul aquitted himself adequately and fought well alongside his peers, not disdinguishing himself, but equally not shaming himself.
From age 16 he began to undertake active field missions, helping break up a slaving ring on his home planet Garos IV and helping numerous spacers when they were ambushed by commerce raiders, his speeder would appear from hyperspace, and furiously attack the pirates or Imperials, before retreating quickly once they fled. He faced his greatest challenge to date when aged 18 he was faced with the spirit of an Ancient Sith which attempted to posess him in order to make a path to galactic domination. Unfortunately for the Sith, he failed to posess the young Oriel and he placed the Sith Artifact in the waste incinerator, ending its threat forever.
Following this great show of mental strength he was elevated to the rank of Knight and dispatched to the Outer Rim Station, finding it strangely theraputic, his abilities were not often tested, the bed soft and the work easy, he was able to devote much time to study of the force and poetry, also learning to play the lute and entertaining locals with his abilities and gentle singing voice. When missions were given to him, he would do them as quickly as possible to return to his quiet life, prefering to solve problems with the force and his words, but maintaining the ability to use his lightsaber with deadly speed when nessesary.
