Tapani Request

While I need to resubmit the Senate app, I would like to put in the request for the Tapani Sector Forces. This is roughly based on the IMC, which to my knowledge, might as well have been the Tapani government, so I'm using it comparatively.

6 OSC E8 Enforcer-class Cruisers
2 Rendili Saratoga-class Carriers
3 Rendili Monterey-class Destroyers
1 Rendili Brisbane-class Battleship

I would like for the Bask/Rendili Line production and design rights to be purchased from the CSA for use exclusively at Fondor Shipyards. A modernization program would be put in place to ensure the line can continue active sales and combat application, as well as a program for refitting the designs for civilian use. This would be the solution to getting Fondor back to work. While requested here, I would RP this out between De Crion and Hirken, should it be allowed. Or, if I should just directly RP this with Hirken, let me know. Along with this, a ground force large enough to fill the troop compliments of these ships, as well as Division to Army size garrisons on all Tapani worlds, comparative in size to population and importance.

From what I have read of the Tapani Sector, the Provinces maintained their own fleets, which were under the discretion of the Noble Houses of each Province. I would like to see a breakdown of these forces between the Provinces to which the ships belong, and I would like to stress clearly that these ships would be under provincial discretion, and can not be used by a sector authority without expressed consent of the House (I'm thinking a kind of fiefdom here).

It could, in that sense, function much like the Mandalorians do; the clans Bralor and Ordo have few ships of their own, but when combined together (to "answer the call of the Mand'alor") they make an appropriately sized defense force. I like this setup, especially if the individual fleets are limited only to Tapani Houses that are actually played in the RP, rather than NPC Houses (because there are, what, 8 or so Houses in the canon? This would be too many ships to involve in the RP).

So, perhaps House Melantha should have, let's say, 2 moderately sized vessels (these would presumably be Imperial ships, considering that House's sympathies). Whichever House that De Crion belongs to, then, could perhaps have 2 moderately sized vessels of its own? What does everyone think of this setup? I definitely don't want to hijack the request by any means, I was just somewhat inspired by Echuu's reference there; considering also that there are three players interested in getting involved in Tapani politics.

I do see us approving 12 battleships at once to one player at this time. I suggest you look into Jace's idea.

Essentially Jace reiterated what I was saying. Tapani Sector politics makes use of the same names in federal and provincial powers, so it can become confusing. But I think having the Tapani Sector fleet broken down into it's provincial components allows for more resources to be committed to those individuals who are interested in taking part in the Tapani Roleplay.

Perhaps we as management should go ahead and break down the naval forces for the Tapani Sector, so that those parties interested can go ahead and start--or should we wait for Mical to come back from hiatus?

Well, who knows where De Crion is, so let's go ahead and figure it out. I think what we're looking at, prospectively, are three noble houses that will be played in the RP. Fajra Merav and her father have dibs on House Melantha, so that's one. De Crion must belong to one of the Houses (although I don't know which), so that's two. And if you are still planning to make a Tapani character, presumably he would steward one of the other houses. This, I think, is a good place to start; three houses, not too few, not too many, and if each has 2 or 3 ships it should work quite nicely in total.

Since I'll be playing Daiyu Merav, I propose that House Melantha have 1 Victory-class Star Destroyer and 2 Tartan-class Patrol Cruisers (recall House Melantha's Imperial sympathies, ergo Imperial ships). What do you think?

Vote: APPROVE (Merav Side Request)

Vote: DENY (Tapani Request; as we have decided on another method of coming up with Tapani numbers, and since Mical has seemingly disappeared from this discussion.)

Ah yes, Echuu is (as always) more correct in this.

So we can consider House Melantha to have the aforementioned military (requested by Jace), and I'll post a request for House Calipsa as soon as I have done a little more research, until then; consider this:

( APPROVED )
