| I would like to request, since he is unlikely to be accepted back into the military and done with politics, that Orion Karath set up his own company. Since he is imprisoned at the moment, it would have been formally set up by his oldest son, Ace. The Company would be called Karath Industries, set up on Corellia, with two subsidiaries starting out. One is Karath Arms, an arms manufacturing company. Another is Sand Panther Security, a private military and security firm, with heavy recruiting being done of the many New Republic soldiers now out of a job, with focus being on those with special operations backgrounds. They would primarily use New Republic equipment, but eventually, through Karath Arms, and other subsidiaries to come, eventually become completely independent with their own equipment. If more details are needed, I can post them.

| I see no particular problem or obstacle to this, and so I vote to APPROVE. What does Ace do, though? Does he have a background in business? I ask because the leadership of the company and the type of expertise it brings to bear should have rather a significant bearing on its success or failure in its infancy.

| For Ace, he joined the NR Army in 7 ABY, being able to qualify for Special Forces. He rose to the rank of Captain, but in 18 ABY, after the Corellian Insurrection, in which he was forced to fight his own people, he chose to retire, join CorSec, and help his people along the path to recovery. When his father formed a Corellian Military again, he would join it, and following the Double Worlds Crisis, resign his commission as a Colonel, and work on bringing KI into existance. For business background, since returning to Corellia, he's owned a weapons shop in Coronet, selling and repairing modern arms, as well as restoring ancient ones. He's a master at gun repair, thanks in part to his Special Forces training, and has a Bachelor in Business Administration. His role within the company is Chief Operations Officer and Director of Sand Panther Security, thus also being a part of the currently small Board of Directors.

| Why would the NR allow this orginization to use thier equiptment. Afterall, it takes a quite large sum of money for upkeep on military grade equiptment, would Karath then supply the necessary funds to operate and maintain said equiptment? And if so, why not just purchase thier own?

| To be precise, they are using New Republic-used equipment(i.e. The A280 Blaster rifle would be used rather than an E-11)...but its equipment is purchased by the company from the manufacturers themselves. Its not loaned or anything...I'm just stating what equipment they would be using.
