Shiva, if you will, I'd be interested in a brief psychological profile of Chad Wainwright and his wife, Melinda Wainwright, who are, of course, Shiva's operatives on Volus. I'm mostly interested in Chad Wainwright, who now lives a comfortable life as a political satirist so in touch with the feelings and consciousness of the Volusian people that his cartoons and commentary seem to resonate with them. I'm curious how this man, so very, very well established—and comfortably established—in Volusian and Imperial society maintains his secret, personal commitment to the Separatist cause.

The reason I ask for some background on this is it seems to me it would take a uniquely schizophrenic person to live this prominent, comfortable, and rewarding life and remain secretly committed to destroying it. One could, of course, point to people like Faisal Shahzad for real life examples of when this has been done, but Shahzad wasn't a prominent and respected commentator. I can see someone infiltrating on some obscure, menial level a society that they despise (like Shiva's other agents on Volus), but I have a hard time wrapping my head around Chad and Melinda Wainwright. Please do go into the psychology, only briefly, if you will.

More than fair enough Jace. I had them pegged as akin to deep sleeper agents, often like those used by the FBI, CIA or other (if you'll permit the pun) alphabet soup agencies.

Like any undercover agent, there is a good deal of stress on the man. Perhaps we could assume a lost family on either behalf during the Clone Wars, faulted to the Republic? Or perhaps both are genuinely devoted to the anti-Imperial movement and are willing to take the risks involved. People can be great fakers and hiders of true feelings. It's just a matter of how good you are at masking things. If anything, I'd say they are closed to well-hidden sociopaths than any thing else really.
