Is it time?
Is the RP ready to advance from 10 BBY to 9 BBY?

The idea has always been that the RP, in this time period, could advance from year to year, with the Empire becoming more oppressive and the rebels gaining strength as we come closer and closer to the events of Episode IV. I always preferred to do it only if everyone was comfortable doing so, though. So are we okay to move the timeline ahead from 10 BBY to 9 BBY? It's not a major jump, but I'm still interested in everyone's opinion.

No, not again. The timeline was always static in previous incarnations of AGW. It stayed the same until people got bored of it and then we had to drastically change, from 11 ABY to 20 ABY for example, or from 20 ABY to 10 BBY. The idea of moving forward incrementally isn't a drastic timeline change—it's meant to avoid one.

I've voiced my support of this ever since you broached this topic with me months ago, and my vote still stands.

Yay-uh.

As Jace said, the idea with this timeline was that it would move forward constantly and continuously, to avoid sudden changes in the timeline. So, instead of jumping from 11 ABY to 20 ABY and coming up with new issue, new plots, etc. we would allow the RP to come to life, per se. The characters continue their lives just as they would for real. So, Orion will not spend five years being twenty-six years old, nor will he be twenty-six at that point, but be a Colonel or something crazy like that. He would evolve and progress naturally. Same for all characters.

I am definately for this, and am of the opinion that we should only sit in a specific year for a real-life year, if not shorter (should that year not seem productive for the RP). Anyways, that's my two-cents.

I'm all for the change, but give it a month or two more to let some of the current major events finish playing out.
