Captain General Hubert Ordan

Purpose
The Interest Protection Squadron has the following purpose:
- To protect the foreign interests of the Azure Sector, its citizens and their property.
- To defend the Azure Sector.
- To give force to Anaxsi Foreign Policy.
- To be used at the discretion of the Captain General.
- To protect Human life.

Traditions

"Blockadeer" Indicates that these ships are experienced and trained in the Blockading of worlds or space stations. This is a battle honour given after experience has been gained.
"Artilleryman's Punch" The traditional mess drink of the Interest Protection Squadron (1 qt 86-proof bourbon, 9 oz light rum, 4 oz dark jamaican rum, 6 oz apricot flavored brandy, 12 oz lemon juice, 24 oz orange juice, 1 qt strong black tea, 1/4 c sugar).
"Bounty" The sum paid to each Anaxasi who enlists with the Interest Protection Squadron, depends on experience but is considered generous.
"Tea" The traditional beverage to be drunk while on watch, it is somewhat similar to modern earl grey mixed with ritalin in effect.
"Anaxsi Efficiency" Being the most exciting part of the fleet to be in, the squadron would is crewed by some of the most adept and able officers and crewmen, all Anaxsi and having been trained to that worlds exacting standards, resulting in a crew that is (on an average) several percentage points faster at performing shipboard tasks than any not in the elite cadres of other Core Navies and the Imperial Navy, and even these would often find themselves outperformed.

Uniform
All Axum Interest Protection Squadron Officers and Enlisted are dressed in plain black with silver rank pips or stripes in a similar fasion to the Anaxes Defence Fleet (which the Interest Protection Squadron is a division of), it differs only in that many ranks have portions of their uniforms a bright scarlet, acting merely as decoration.

Marines Uniform is red. Blockadeer units may also wear fully scarlet uniform depending on the preference of their Captain. In combat situations or when on battle situations Marines wear red Imperial Heavy Trooper armour with a large pauldron/shield down the left arm, around half an inch thick this heavy armour plate provides exceptional protection when engaged in combat in the kneeling position, sheltering much of the body (and allowing the head to be partially shielded behind it's thick protection). Ion grenades are often seen worn down their bandoleers.

Officers and NCOs are permitted to wear all decorations in service or dress uniform.

Aboard ship and on the ground the Interest Protection Squadron Embarilite Marine Regiment is armed with the AX-1 Heavy Blaster Carbine, a close technical cousin of the DC-15A. Although more expensive, the AX-1 compresses the incredible firepower of the DC-15A down into a small space and includes a sight capable of being linked to the helmet computer systems of marines. The rifle sacrifices magazine capacity in favor of introduction of a special ability, this ability is to be able to output a constant beam of fire for roughly one second per shot - inflicting the equivalent of five or six blasts with one beam. The disadvantage of beam fire is that it is highly visible (pinpointing the firer) and also has reduced the magazine capacity to 250 regular blasts (or 50 beam shots). A heavy weapon for a carbine it can often be seen utilized with a vibro-bayonet in order to create an extremely effective close combat weapon. The weapon weighs approximately 5kg, making it extremely difficult to use for anyone other than one extremely trained in the weapon and possessing considerably muscle mass - thus this weapon was introduced for the Embarilite Marines now regularly seen aboard Anaxsi ships.

Ion Rifles and a selection of grenades are carried by specialist troopers. Heavier weapon load-outs are available if the situation requires such.

Ship colours
Ships, Stations and Fighters are uniformly painted black. Blockadeer units may have their vessels painted with red markings, this may also be applied to vessels with certain battle honours.

The Tector-class Star Destroyer "Eagle"- The newly purchased Flagship for the Squadron, a cutting edge vessel from Kuat Drive Yards ordered to be the last word in conflicts within the Outer Rim. The vessel is expected to have it's shakedown cruise within a month although the exact date is not publically disclosed.

Imperial II-class Frigate "Swan" - Another newly purchased unit, this ship is designed to be deployed with a pair of Corvettes, providing sufficient projection power to suppress a small world, this vessel is another slick and efficient KDY number. This vessel has been refered to as "the perfect blockadeer" due to it's combination of Turbolaser, Ion cannon and tractor beam abilities. In addition to this it has the ability to carry over 4,400 soldiers, although it only carries four hundred Marines as standard. These men are from the Anaxsi "First Embarilite Marine Regiment" formed of recruited Embarilite Clansmen, trained and made familiar with military discipline, these warriors combine the efficient competency of Anaxsi Marines with the fierce savagery the Embarilites are reknown for.

Mid Rim Sub-Section (Reserve Unit) - Most often at least one of these vessels acts as a tender to the "Eagle" and one is deployed as an interdiction vessel operating from the "Rock of Ages" in the Outer or Mid Rim.

Anaxsi vessels sport a comprehensive "anti-boarding suite".

Ion Blasters and Blaster Cannons - Drop down dual turrets are placed in the roof of many corridors and all major intersections. These are capable of autonomous function or central control. Each of these drop down turrets is protected by it's own deflector shield in the manner of a droideka.

Sectional "anti boarding traps". As vessels can all be locked down on conventional ships in order to vent undesirable gasses or to contain pressure leaks. Anaxsi ships take this one step further by enabling sections to be turned into "hostile environments" to destroy boarding parties, each section can employ any/all or a combination of the following "hostile environment" actions on any area of the ship sealed off.

1. Gravitational variance - Artificial gravity can be removed entirely or increased almost indefinitely within any given section of the ship. This allows the non-lethal (usually) solution of employing the crushing forces of gravity to cause boarding parties to fall unconscious. Even powered armor does not contain inertial dampners, this results in individuals in the area blacking out or being crushed by their own weight depending on the level gravity is increased to.
2. Hostile substance flooding - The ship's plasma conduits can be flooded into many area of the ship and then vented safely, this renders whole areas of the ship completely uninhabitable temporarily (vaporizing anyone present) but allows for the cleansing of an area from microbes etc. While plasma is the standard material, water or carbon dioxide are also common options.
3. "Compression corridors" many corridors are able to compress themselves, crushing the individuals within.
4. Pressure variance - The pressure within a compartment may be increased or decreased to compress or decompress (explosively in theory) the unfortunate borders.

"Forcefield traps" (as seen in Revenge of the Sith) are common throughout the interest protection squadron. In addition, forcefield bulkheads are placed regularly throughout the ship, allowing areas to be sealed off in the event blast doors are unavailable. Many of these have the ability to be "shuttered" allowing them to be opened only up to waist height (allowing effective combat cover). These forcefields provide the ability to seal off borders or protect crewmen from hull breaches etc.

Loopholes - a primitive but effective strategy, the vessel has many loopholes into large corridors through which a blaster can be fired from hidden access points in the engineering tubes.
