First there was "Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough" being the latest of many things Ben Kenobi says that no longer make any sense. Now this, from the Wookieepedia page on carbonite.

"Sometime during the Clone Wars, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker encased himself and his team in carbonite to be sent undetected to the planet Gwori,[3] and later used this method on another mission."

4 sentences later...

"Han Solo was frozen in carbonite on Darth Vader's orders to test whether a Human could survive being encased in carbonite"

Rage.

Probably gets encased in carbonite. Since it's a fashionable thing to do, apparently.
