Jedi Knight at Large on Imperial Center
Imperial Center — Four stormtroopers were murdered on Imperial Center this evening by a perpetrator believed to be Kenas Annig, a Jedi wanted for pederasty and treason. Witnesses described the perpetrator as a "Jedi" who dispatched the stormtroopers using a lightsaber, and wounds on the stormtroopers and holofootage of the perpetrator corroborated this version of events. The Coruscant Security Force (CSF) has appealed to the public to be on the look out for a human male in his 30's with black, short cropped hair, and an accomplice who was seen in "clone commando" armor.
The stormtroopers had pursued the Shi'ido leader of a child prostitution ring into a street market on Imperial Center and were preparing to arrest her when Mr. Annig and his accomplice interfered. An exchange of blaster fire followed and, according to officials, the Jedi used his lightsaber to deflect the fire of the stormtroopers away from himself and into a crowd of bystanders, wounding several, while his accomplice shot 2 of the stormtroopers in the back. The Shi'ido was killed in the skirmish and the suspects fled the scene after Mr. Annig murdered an additional 2 stormtroopers.
Corporal TS-111 (known as "Deece") and Private VK-117 ("Gundark") gave a spirited chase of the suspects on foot and are believed to have saved another bystander from Mr. Annig's blade, but in doing so were rendered unconscious. Imperial reinforcements and CSF officers did not arrive in time to continue the pursuit, and the suspects remain at large in the Underlevels. The CSF has disseminated images of the duo, and reminds the public that they are to be considered armed and extremely dangeous.
However, Rainier Brandt, the Moff of Imperial Center, has urged calm. "Now that these reprobates have shown themselves, it is only a matter of time before they are captured," he told INN, "In the meantime, I assure the people that they are quite safe." He also advised parents not to remove their children from school, and warned travelers to expect delays at prominent ports on Imperial Center as security is increased, adding: "The Empire will see to it they won't escape."
The Imperial Senate Guard also announced that security would be stepped up at the capitol this week "because of the known hatred of the Jedi for this democratic institution." At press time, blue-clad guards were seen escorting Imperial Senators to and from their speeders outside the Senate Rotunda.
