Outlaw Willis Weathers Killed on Dantooine
Dantooine, Raioballo Sector — Notorious outlaw Willis Weathers has been shot and killed in an attempted hostage-taking and robbery of the Farm Bank of Sulem on Dantooine, the militia has announced. Weathers had been wanted for numerous counts of bank robbery, murder, and mischief across the planet. His brother, Otis Weathers, is reported to have escaped, leaving businessman and would-be hostage Marten Flagg free.
Mr. Flagg, formerly of Tion space, traveled to Dantooine on a business trip whereupon the Weathers brothers are reported to have abducted him and compelled Mr. Flagg to participate in the attempted robbery in Sulem. The attempt was foiled, however, when a member of Flagg's security detail shot and killed Willis Weathers. An additional member of the security detail was killed, and Otis Weathers remains at large.
"The town of Sulem owes a debt to Marten Flagg and his party," Sulem sheriff and militia captain Nathaniel Nerfherd was quoted as saying in the local flimplasts.
Otis Weathers is believed to have beat a retreat to Dantooine's capital city of Garang. Farmers in the plains outside Garang have been advised to keep an eye on barns and storehouses where Mr. Weathers may take refuge. Any sightings of the man should be reported to the militia.
