Coming from a family with a long line of army service, as far back as the Unification Wars, he served within the ceremonial Republic Army after attending the Carida Academy. By the time of the actual outbreak of the Clone Wars, he was a Sergeant, although bucked down to Private after the formation of the GAR. He went on to achieve the rank of Captain, leading a team of ARC Troopers, becoming an ARC Trooper himself...and proudly participating in Order 66. After the formation of the Empire, he led the efforts to suppress dissent and enforce Order 66. Afterwards however, he returned to civilian life...acting as a security consultant on Coruscant for the Imperial City government.
When it appeared that much of the Galaxy would not take kindly to the formation of the Empire, however, he re-joined the service. At first, he was enlisted once more, serving as a Drill Instructor to the Imperial Army; due to his prior service and excellent service record, he was enlisted as a Staff Sergeant. Over time, however, his leadership was craved for in the Special Missions units of the Army, and he once more was serving in the field. With this transition, however, came a commission yet again, as a First Lieutenant.
He quickly rose up, becoming one of several Clone Wars vet tapped to reform the Army's Special Forces. As a Commando, he showed a willingness to accomplish the mission no matter the cost, that was absent of many, which command liked and ended up with him rising to the top of the ranks. Eventually, he become commander of the 5th Special Forces Group, overseeing special operations in the Outer Rim, as well as the operations of the Army's secretive "Project: GHOST".
