History
Formed in the early months of the Clone Wars; the 212th Legion was originally assigned to the Rodian Jedi Master Cheechak Tanwa. However, following his untimely demise within the first month of the war, they were eventually reassigned to serve under newly-promoted Jedi General Karth De'Qora. Notably, the 212's Senior Commander, "Crass", found himself at-odds with the Jedi in the early going. De'Qora was more laid-back and friendly with his troops than the stern Crass liked, but in time their working relationship evolved into a deep friendship. After successfully passing their first real test in the defense of Kamino, the 212th was then assigned to front line positions on Cartao and Jabiim; the latter of those two being the start of a long-standing rivalry between De'Qora and Separatist commander (and Dark Acolyte) Shanro Ka.
Following the disaster at Jabiim, the 212th would earn a reputation for tenacity and good, hard results. A number of victories earned Commander Crass a Medal of Valor for his tactics both on the field and in his men's preparation. Perhaps their most overwhelming victory came at New Plympto, in the waning days of the Old Republic. A rout of the Separatist forces there, along with the presumed kill of Jedi Knight De'Qora, earned even more merit from Stormtrooper Command. Unbeknownst to them, both Karth and his lover, Daneira Farris, had managed to survive the betrayal on New Plympto and escape into obscurity. Nevertheless, as the GAR was reformed into the Imperial Military, the 212th would become one of the shining examples of the steadfast loyalty and merciless efficiency of the Stormtrooper Corps.
