Biography
Born in Kor Valla on Corellia, he was initially raised within the spartan cult that resides within the town. His father was a member of Ranulph Tarkin's paramilitary force, and former Republic Judiciary, who later served as a Senate Guard, becoming a member of the Red Guard upon its foundation. He set an example to his son, by joining the military upon its reformation for the Clone Wars, and continued to serve in the Imperial Army to this day. His mother is an Echani warrior, a member of the Echani High Protectors, who dedicated the early part of her life fighting Mandalorians, she joined the SBI at the height of the Separatist Crisis.
His parents, who met while his father was responding to one of the many clashes between the Echani and Mandalorians, were very similar individuals despite vastly different backgrounds. Due to his father's constant service, and thus being away from home often, he was raised primarily by his mother, who rose him in the traditional Echani ways.
At the age of sixteen, at the urging of his mother, he travels to Eshan, the Echani homeworld, and participates in the rights of passage for an Echani adult. Upon becoming a man among his mother's people, he is granted a home on the planet, which he now utilizes as a safehouse. The Sun Guard attempt to convert him over to their cause, even going so far as to grant him a house on Thyrsus. The attempt fails, for now at least, but he is known to utilize his home on Thyrsus as an additional safehouse.
During the transition of the Empire to the Republic, the Diktat suffers an assassination attempt while walking the streets of Coronet. Being a loyal Corellian, he shoves the Diktat out of the path of the blast bolt that would have killed him, being hit and nearly dying in the process.
Through Senate appointment, due to his outstanding academic and fitness marks, father's connections, and saving of the Diktat, he is able to attend the Imperial Military Academy, being sent to Carida.
Is able to work hard enough to pull off a double major at Carida, and graduates as valedictorian of his class. He is almost immediately deployed into the field upon graduation to Barab I.
Following less than a month, he is selected for Special Missions service due to exemplary performance on Barab I.
When he finally meets the squad he is to serve in, he finds himself at home with the Empire's special operations community. He forms a bond with his commanding officer, and at the man's suggestion, following only a few months of service, enters selection for the Imperial Commandos.
Upon arriving at Commando Selection, he is granted the distinction of being Candidate 1. No one with that designation passes the course. He becomes the first, and only thus far, to do so.
After completing Commando training, he is chosen to be art of a test unit exploring the options of adding a specialized fourth company to the Special Forces Groups, being specifically added to the Fifth Special Forces Group. His first assignment as a Commando makes him a battle hardened veteran, on Renatasia.
After being given time to recover from Renatasia, he is deployed to Maridun, to provide security for the set-up of mining operations. This is followed by a string of deployments to Dressel, Carratos, Alurion, and Sriluur, all as part of what is deemed the Rim Securty Assistance Force, a group of Imperial military units ensuring order reigns supreme in the Outer Rim and providing military assistance to Imperial worlds in or near the Outer Rim.
His team is unexpectedly pulled from their assignment and stationed on Imperial Center, under the direct authority of High Command and the Special Operations Command.

The following is a recording of notes made during several sessions over a week
Young for someone of his position and less experienced, most Special Forces officers rising up from the enlisted ranks rather than coming out of the Academy, he certainly makes up for it by being a superb technical soldier; distinguishing characteristics are courage, intelligence, and resourcefulness. He views his military service as a duty to defend his homeworld and the galaxy, and to protect the innocents of the galaxy. Holds all current marksmanship records in the Imperial Army, and one of the top ten marksman across the entire military service. A notable aspect of this is his use of the center axis relock shooting system, as opposed to the military-wide trained point shooting system. Lack to conformity is potentally troubling, but one can not argue with the results; same goes for his branching out into several martial arts styles, as opposed to mandated Imperial training. Views all objects as weapons; upon entering a room, he will take short mental notes and observations about his surroundings and the objects within.
He displays a fraternal bond with those under his command, in a such a manner as being comparable to that of his biological brother. In his service records, it seems he nearly values their lives more than his own. When one of his men has been killed, he stops at nothing to kill the enemy responsible for the death, and his been successful in each occurence thus far. Display's, however, severe survivor's guilt. Continued blackouts from the Renatasia Campaign are troubling; I would recommend for an indefinite leave of absense and treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, however I will not file for such in deference to High Command's previous clearance of Captain Karath to service.
I find him, when feeling casual, speaking of interest in the thinking of the enemy. He disregards the big-picture view of enemy strategy, and defers to squad-based tactics and stategy, sometimes down to the singular enemy combatant. He wishes to understand tactics and strategy utilized by the enemy, and to understand their motivations as well as achieve insights into their strengths and weaknesses. He often follows such drifting thoughts by remarking that he wishes to use such weaknesses to achieve overwhelming victory. Records show he is highly intelligent, and ambidexrous. Very controlled in posture and breathing - no fidgeting or wasted movement; slightly disturbing to watch. Becomes very still when confronted, and never breaks eye contact. Despite by insistance otherwise, claims to have suffered from no recent emotional trauma. Feels no need to explain or justify his actions, and is comfortable with civilian casualties when necessary or unavoidable. Captain Karath appears to be a very methodical individual, everything is calculated; I believe turning one's back on this man would be very dangerous. In a word, he is unpredictable... I believe he prefers it this way.
Maintains the fitness level of an athlete, suiting his profession - strictly maintains a regimented workout schedule, despite illness or injury. He smokes... heavily - prefers clove cigarettes and cigars. He drinks... heavily - prefers alcoholic products from his homeworld. In both cases of vice, will try anything, despite preferences. Hates canine creatures; possibly related to events on Barab I. Has a deep friendship with Captain Arad Dominin, commander in Special Missions - seems to hold Captain Dominin as a father figure.
When stressed, he becomes quiet, gruff, and stoic. When not stressed, he has a notable aggressive nature, with combat records indicating that he prefers to show no mercy towards the enemy, unless they openly surrender - observes all protocol if such event occurs. Seems annoyed by heavy weaponry. Complements such behavior with a dry and darksense of humor, seems to be a fear and stress control mechanism. Can curse, heavily. Involved in much of the Empire's conflicts over the past four years, nearly all of them unconventional in nature. Excells at covert and unconventional operations due to hard work ethic, insatiable curiosity, and brutal honesty; tactical experience has become part of instinctive behavior, with combat and constant training defining his entire life, even as an adolescent. Comfortable on the fringe of society, prefers to observe rather than interact.
Captain Karath, in my mind, displays what one may confuse as cockiness and the invincibility of youth; however, this is merely him being fully aware and confident of his abilities, and his personal belief of survival being a gift of chance rather than blessing or intended event by a higher power. Recognizes he is fallible, and willing to admit when he has made mistakes; despite nature remarked above otherwise, does not want to die. Abrasive at times, and honest, he seems to have little patience for niceties, and even less for lies, or what he terms "bull shit". Although his own words may betray him, he is not a blind idealist. It is very difficult to get Catain Karath to relax enough to reveal his true self, and if one succeeds it is only for a moment. It seems he has forced himself to bury certain aspects of himself in order to better achieve objectives, and can emotionally detach himself at will, but not entirely. No interest in glory, and feels he has nothing to prove to anyone at this point; this is evident in his still unexplained turning down of a promotion to the rank of Major and command of his company earlier in the year. If he engages someone, be it in combat or otherwise, it is because he believes he will be the victor.
In summary, Captain Karath is very well on his way to becoming his work... an aspect that will certainly be favorable to his future. I have several concerns, however, of the psychological and emotional stability of the subject. This I will file in an accompanying report.
