Brief History
- The result of a forbidden union between an unknown Jedi Knight and Nina Dabidarose, a Republic pilot sometime before the fall of the Republic. Upon becoming pregnant, his mother was released from the fleet and returned to her homeworld of Naboo where Ulric was born. He never met his father, whether it was the turmoil of the Clone Wars, an early death, or the shame at having broken his vows as a Jedi - the boy's father never came to visit him. His mother raised him as dutifully as she could, not keeping his Jedi heritage from him (save the identity of his father) and doing her best to enable the boy to pursue that path (short of giving him over to the Jedi, much to the boy's fortune in light of Order 66) as he grew. As the Clone Wars progressed and the galaxy became a less friendly place for Jedi, Ulric was taught by his mother to hide his gifts as best he could (considering he never had a true teacher in the Jedi arts). Several years after the fall of the Republic, his mother died of a rare and rapidly fatal disease and Ulric was orphaned as a teenager. His mother had extolled the virtues of the Republic and heroic (however currently maligned) Jedi Order, that coupled with a strong desire to reconcile with the memory of a father he had never known, has driven young, idealist Ulric to take up the only relic of his patriarch (a Serenno curved silver lightsaber hilt, implying that perhaps his Jedi father was an associate of the late Count Dooku in some regard) and take the fight to the evil Empire that destroyed the Republic her mother had loved, and eradicated the Jedi Order to which his father had belonged. Through experimentation and traditional teaching (martial arts, military combatives) he has achieved a certain degree of facility with his burgeoning Force talents and the lightsaber blade he wears (but has not yet wielded in defense of the innocent or the helpless); to complete his venture into the harsh world of the post Republic Empire, he has taken up the moniker "Ulric Sunblade" to signify his devotion to Hope, Truth and Honor.
