| Beings of the Empire, allow me to introduce myself; I am Lady Taja Lohden, wife of Lord Jarth Lohden-Krix and daughter of former-Senator Lohden of Kaal. I come before you today not as the daughter of a traitor, but as the salvation of a people marred by my father's past misdealings with those who would usurp the Empire. As many of you know, Senator Lohden was a man who often spoke outwardly of the measures used by the Empire, though he crossed the line when he was discovered allowing groups of insurgents to use Kaal as a staging ground. He dishonoured not only his family name, but the reputation of our fair world. This is a mistake I intend to rectify, with every fibre of my being. The people of Kaal wish to once more open their arms to the Empire, as it has for many years now, and forget the tragic mistakes of our delusional former senator. Therefore, as I apply to the Senate for their gracious approval for Senatorship, I say this; I, Taja Lohden, do formally renounce and disown my father and his actions, as I shall renounce and disown and openly combat any form of hostile rebellion against the might of the Empire. Should any of you have a question to pose, I'll gladly hear it.

| Actions speak louder than words, Senator-Applicant Lohden. I will be watching you carefully in these halls to see if your bloodline truly has shed its former shame. Let me be the first to welcome you to Imperial Center's grandest debating hall, if I may.

| Firstly, I thank you for your almost-warm welcome, and hope to gain not only your respect, but the respect of every other Senator who wishes for nothing but the ongoing stability of His Majesty's Empire. I agree that actions do speak louder than words, as my father proved when he allowed unruly dissidents to smear our world and bring our name down with it. However, having just publicly disowned my Father, I would appreciate no further pre-judgemental comments concerning me and my bloodline. Should I be approved, however, I will leave no doubt in anyone's mind as to whether I have shed the dishonour brought upon my name by the former Senator of Kaal. Concerning his actions, and recent activities by insurgents and rebels, I have in mind a number of amendments and bills I'd like to put forth for debate. But I shan't jump into that just yet, Senator Ryuun. For now, I shall be content to find myself under your wise scrutiny, and hope to enlighten you to my nature and goals as soon as I can.

| It is indeed unfortunate, the actions of your father. Public disowning is... quite a step. It just remains to be seen what manner of bills and amendments you have to place forward. In the meantime, perhaps you will find yourself at the party being hosted by the good Moff Brandt. It will be an excellent chance for you to get to know the other Senators.

| Lady Taja Lohden, I do not see how your father's standing in the politics should affect your own. You aren't your father after all, and I'm sure you will do the right things for Kaal in His Majesty's Senate. I wish you good luck as the Senator of Kaal.

| *Ja'nar briefly wondered to herself what this galaxy was coming too, people disowning their fathers in order to join this body. Oh by the gods she was going to need more patience than she had originally thought* I would like to also welcome you to this great debating hall like my esteemed colleague, Senator Ryuun.

| *It was said that it 'takes one to know one,' and it was perhaps for this reason that Cambrist immediately recognized Taja Lohden for the serpent that she was. It was all too apparent in her career, which Cambrist had perused while Lohden had been speaking with Ryuun. Her file appeared to be simply names, dates, and events, but Cambrist could see the malevolent hand lingering over those events, as if painting them on a canvas. It was a masterpiece, to be sure, painted by a frighteningly talented artist. The wealthy husband, three decades Lohden's senior, who fell tragically (and, Cambrist would wager, inexplicably) into senility and signed all of his holdings to his young wife. Then there was her father. Disowning him was the least that she had probably done to the man. Someone had made that 'anonymous tip' to the Empire about his dealings, after all. Had he proof of any of this? No. Nor was he concerned. It was, rather, more of a professional appreciation of her work. Still, a part of Cambrist couldn't escape the feeling that now, for the first time in his career, he had to watch out. He cleared his throat.* "I see no reason why the sins of the father should be visited upon you, Ms. Lohden. As I understand it, your devotion to the Empire is... much talked about. It is certainly beyond reproach. I welcome you to the Senate and wish you the best of luck."

| Taja Lohden smiled as she received welcomes from the various esteemed Senators; some of them honest warm welcomes, some, she suspected, a little falsified. Either way, it would appear there was no objection to her taking over from her Father, and righting his wrongs, something she intended to do swiftly. "Thank you, all, for your warmest welcomes. I look forward to serving with you, and furthermore, serving the ongoing stability of the Empire with you."

| A warm welcome indeed. It will be good to once again have a Senator Lohden in this chamber and, it would seem, one with the right priorities for Kaal and for the Empire. If you are ready, I will now administer the oath of office. If you will repeat after me, please. "I, (state your name), do solemnly swear, under penalty of treason, that I will represent the people of (state your constituency) to the best of my ability, that I will bear true allegiance to the Empire, its Emperor, and its policies and principles, that I will uphold and abide the Imperial Charter, that I will preserve and protect the principles of the New Order, and that I will defend all of these from all enemies of the Empire, both foreign and domestic. So help me."
