The problem with using cloning as the answer is the fact that there are only a limited amount of genes in the small population already for these species. If we clone these species as an answer, we will lead them to an even quicker demise. The lose of the genetic gene pool as a whole by turning the species DNA into a single strand, thus preventing future generations of the species, as well as leading to other problems with in the species, such as weakened immune systems, and genetic deformities that would result in the stream lining of the species DNA. It had not been purely put up as an answer merely because of the risk of rapidly destroying the species, more than saving them. As for the question as to why the Cronese Mandate doesnt keep this to ourselves as a private venture, our people as a whole do not wish to do so. Why should we be the only ones allowed to enjoy the many different species on our worlds, while the people of their native homes would never again see the species. The thought of keeping this privatized, rather than publicized also disturbed the people. We could do more good in this being a public venture, as the other Senators have voiced in the area's of allowing College and University students access to these sanctuaries for study for a donation in return, than if a private owner kept these animals in their back yard.
By keeping this a public venture, and placing a committee in charge and allowing the public information on these efforts, we are showing the public and the people of the Empire that this under taking is for the good of the people. To help educate them and strengthen the Empire, so that the next generation will always remember that those before them took a stand and preserved the glory of these Animals, by showing that the Empire is strong and able to do so. We will ensure that when our bones are nothing more than dust, the people will still remember our names as those that preserved these animals as a sign that there is no task too small or menial, too large or difficult, that the Empire could not handle.
